The character's fragmented memory of his past leads to some contradictory moments in the technological memory recorder he uses to survive his daily life.
The contradiction between reality and illusion is so beautifully rendered that it is only in the final scenes of the movie that the audience is able to unravel the truth thanks to the mystery added to the story.
I don't know if I need to say that this gives extra viewing pleasure, but when some stories end, the aftertaste and the bitterness lingers for a while. Mayumi's character's contradiction with her past and the technological memory recorder she uses to live her daily life provides this in spades.
In addition to its technological infrastructure and reflections, the film has a strange atmosphere that emphasizes uncertainty and tension. The setting successfully reflects the mental confusion of the main character.
And the contradictions between reality and illusion, which are my favorite moments, offer a psychological experience in addition to the tension.
