CineTv Contest: "Beast Of No Nation" My Favorite Movie

in CineTV2 days ago (edited)

Hello Movie lovers, we are at it again for the CineTV contest and this time I will be talking about my favorite movie that people don't like.

Before this contest, back then, when I asked people if they have seen the movie, most of them always said Yes but had negative reports. "Beast Of No Nation" was quite a popular movie in 2015 with a famous movie actor acting in the lead role (Idris Elba).

"Beasts of No Nation" is a 2015 war drama film written, shot, and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. The movie tells the story of Agu, a young boy from a small village in West Africa, who is forced to become a child soldier after his family is torn apart by civil war.

The movie portrays the life of a boy who is initiated into an anti-government militia, where he faces the harsh reality of having to kill or be killed. One key message the film conveys is the struggles of people living in war zones.

In 2015, there was significant conflict in various countries across Africa, with Nigeria being one of the major nations suffering from terrorist attacks.

The film features an impressive performance by Idris Elba as Commandant, the ruthless leader of the rebel group that Agu joins. Abraham Attah, a young Ghanaian actor, makes his film debut as Agu, delivering a heart-wrenching and nuanced performance.

The journey of Agu was a very interesting one, he was separated from his parent. Had to join the rebel army which he knows nothing about, he was initiated into a cult and was granted power via black magic. The process of obtaining this power was a cruel one where they had to go through different torture, be buried alive, and have to see some of their friends die through this process.

Here are some of the reason I believe people don't like it.

  • Powerful performances by Idris Elba and Abraham Attah. There were some act in the movie people saw as extreme but to me, it wasn't. It was the truth about things that happens during war.

  • Graphic and disturbing violence, including scenes of child soldiers committing atrocities. There was a part where Agu had to kill a man after being motivated by the commander who said the man head was like a watermelon and Agu should cut the head which he did.

  • Mature themes, including rape, murder, and exploitation.
  • Slow-paced and introspective storytelling, which may not appeal to viewers who prefer action-oriented films. The storytelling part was the best because you get to understand the thought of a child who was thorn from his parent and was made into a killing machine.
  • Unflinching portrayal of the harsh realities of war, which may be emotionally challenging for some viewers. Most people in Africa enjoyed this movie is what I will choose to believe but there were some truth or realities they could face or accept.

"Beast Of No Nation" is a very interesting war movie that talks about the ugly part of war in a third-world or developing country. If I am to rate the movie, I would rate it 8.5/10. The reason is because it tells a story that should be seen by everyone and I recommend you watch it also.

Beast of no nation... sweet film! There were many gory sights, but it's all part of the story and what makes the film come to life. I don't think that many people disliked it, though(that's on my end). Sha, I grew around guys that enjoyed these kinds of films, so....

Hey, Big Fash!
I don't think that I've said hello to you in a while...my bad. How are you doing!?

Like 5 tears fell from my eyes when I saw the person commenting on my post.
The woman King herself.
These tears keep falling. I need a bowl.

For Beast of No Nation, yeah, it has some raw scenes, and as a horror movie watcher, I love it and I love it because of the story behind it. Not many people were able to watch it.

It is nice to see your comment. It gave me much joy.

I remember this one being the first big film for Netflix (original) and it was pretty good, I need to give it a rewatch.
