Hey guys, i hope you are all doing fine! These past days i was quite absent due to a lot of work as well as discovering a new series gem which is the one i am gonna review now. There are two seasons out there and there won't be a third one and as you can imagine i watched them both.
I was thinking of reviewing both of them together but the reality is that each season is a little bit different and if you read the plot below and the plot in my next post or if you have watched it, then you will understand why i do what i do. Anyway, without any further delay let's begin!
General Info
Bad Blood season 1 is a mini-series that came out in 2017 and consists of 6, 47 minutes episodes. Bad Blood is considered a crime drama was created by Michael Konyves
and Simon Barry. The main stars of the show are Kim Coates (you might remember him from sons of anarchy) who is amazing by the way and Anthony LaPaglia who is also awesome.
Plot

Now let's start with the plot. The story is actually based on real events and real people and to be more precise it revolves around the Rizzuto family. The Rizzuto family was an actual crime family that would run Montreal for many years.
Vito Rizzuto (Anthony LaPaglia) the son of the notorious mob boss of the Rizzuto family Niccolo wanted to go a step further and surpass his father's "legacy". He decided that instead of killing each other for proving who is the strongest he could do something smarter.
He would unite all the big factions which were, the Irish, the Haitians and the bikers and Vito would be in control of that syndicate. He would be in control because he had something all the other factions hadn't and that was the connection with the police and mayor.
Also, together they would be stronger and they could earn more money, something that was true. That happened in 1996 and continued until 2006 without serious problems. During that time though someone sent 2 guys to kill him, Vito saw them and told his right-hand man Declan to deal with them.
That was the beginning of everything. Vito realized that this game has no end so he tried to be legit in terms of his businesses and that was a stepstone for retirement. There are some other players though from other cities and countries that want to take a piece of the pie and those people framed him and sentenced him to prison for a while.
With Vito in prison and everyone running wild Declan, his right-hand man needs to take care of everything and bring the situation under control. Declan has to control all the different factions, find out who wants to destroy them and keep Vito's son in place as he is acting like a boss without any knowledge of the game.
What I Liked & What I Didn't

I honestly don't have a lot of negatives things to say. The series is based on a book about the actual Rizzuto family which is something that i always liked, i mean the based on true events element. The acting is superb, especially the narrating by Kim Coates which somehow reminds me of narrating on games. He has either done that or he should do it!
The drama is there, there is a plot twist at the end that some may don't expect, the only negatives i have to say are the duration of the series and the swearing. I think regarding the duration, we could have double the episodes and learn more things about Vito's journey and struggles.
The other thing is the language. Canada's TV has certain rules so due to that i don't even recall hearing any swearing, maybe the word shut-up and shit. I think that in a series where you have to do with crime, mobs, drama swearing is a big part of it that believe it or not can uplift the show a bit!
