"Meet Me In St Loius" Glorious Music

in CineTV4 days ago

My mum would always tell stories of how women got married at a very young age back in the 80s and 90s, most of which couldn't finish their education, some got married in between 13 and 14 years, others at 16 or 19.

And it got me curious about this movie i watched with my best friend (no longer friends) while in my second year in the university 2015.
I wanted to get a clear picture of this movie because of a lesson am confused about, so i downloaded it as always in moviebox

,

Meet Me In St Louis gave me a feeling of what love was like back then in 1904. The enthusiastic vibes it gives will swipe your mind away in terms of comedy, romance and drama, It's exquisite

The Movie/Storyline

St Louis is an independent city that was preparing for the Opening of its world fair in 1904, The movie consist of Alonzo Smith’ who was a successful middle class Lawyer in a law firm and was working as hard as possible to support his wife, 2 teenage daughters, 2 young daughters, a teenage son and his wife's father.

The yearnings of the young people back then in 1903 are to keep social standard, the young teenage women yearn for romance, a husband and their own home, the young teenage men however of the middle upper class plan to become lawyers or businessmen after graduating from college, they buy a house, get married and start a family, that was the normal lifestyle routing in St louis.

However Alonzo plans to give his family the best but was trapped to make a difficult decision when his law firm promotes him to head the firm branch in New York. It was a wonderful opportunity and a step higher, he plans on taking his whole family with him. But he was faced with a disturbing decision when he finds out his children have already found love in St louis, the children hope to just be poor so they can leave a happier life in St louis instead of moving away to a better place.

So what do you think will be Alonzo's decision? would he reconsider and reject a promotion that will elevate his family to the next level just to grant them comfort and a better life? Well i think i'm gonna leave that answer till you watch the movie and find out for yourself.

Meet Me In St louis has a lot of outstanding music but my utmost favorite song was the one by Esther and her sister titled “Meet Me In St louis” This song was sung by everyone in the town because of the opening of the World fair exposition and the excitement could be admired from the music.

Morals.

The movie will make you laugh your spine out, filled with comedy, romance and oh alot of drama, And lets not forget the 1903 Christmas eve dance by Esther and her admirer John it was magnificently beautiful

Alonzo Smith is the father of the house working tooth and nail to elevate his family, he has to worry about where the money is coming from, trying to earn more money to give his family everything they deserves, his Wife Anna always gives her full support to whatever decision he feels will be best for the family. I love the lesson portrayed by Anna. It shows that a Wife should always obey, support and follow the lead of a husband no matter where his decision takes the family.

The Smiths show encouraging support for one another which proves that family should always be there for each other regardless of the circumstances.

Alonzo debating whether to accept or refuse his promotion should be overrated. I know happiness should be a compulsory phenomenon, but I mean who would turn down a multimillion naira deal that will change his life and that of his family, certainly not me …

It shows that a Wife should always obey, support and follow the lead of a husband no matter where his decision takes the family.

Interesting, I remember honour and obey were part of the wedding vows women said to men.
My first wife refused to say obey ... We were divorced three years later 🤣

Lolzzz some women can be possessive, so long you a woman you you agree to get married to a man the you must obey him even if he is leading the family into the bush

lol that is crazy, it is like cults, follow the leader anywhere haha
