In this action-packed thriller, we dive into a nuclear submarine commanded by Captain Ramsey and Executive Officer Hunter.

When an international crisis threatens to trigger a nuclear conflict, the submarine USS Alabama is ordered to launch its missiles.

However, differences of opinion arise between Captain Ramsey, who defends the need to follow orders without question, and Officer Hunter, who questions the legality of the launch order.

What follows is an intense confrontation between the Captain and the Officer, who are forced to make crucial decisions that could trigger a global catastrophe.

Tension mounts aboard the submarine as the crew is divided and the consequences of their actions become increasingly imminent.

With masterful performances by Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman, Crimson Tide immerses us in a game of power, ethics and loyalty in a claustrophobic and unforgiving environment.

The film invites us to reflect on the nature of leadership, decision-making under pressure and the consequences of our actions in extreme situations.

Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman received well-deserved Oscar nominations for their gripping performances.

The film was also recognised with a BAFTA nomination for Best Screenplay, highlighting the tense and intelligent plot.

Crimson Tide was a huge box office success, grossing over $157 million worldwide on a budget of $53 million.

vThis commercial success cemented director Tony Scott's reputation as a creator of visceral, edge-of-your-seat entertainment.
