This is a sci-fi horror film directed by Renny Harlin. The story is set in an underwater research facility called Aquatica, where a group of scientists are conducting experiments on sharks to develop a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Dr. Susan McAlester, played by Saffron Burrows, leads the project, which involves genetically manipulating sharks to increase their intelligence. However, this manipulation has unexpected consequences.
As the plot progresses, it is revealed that the sharks, now more intelligent and aggressive, begin to attack the researchers. The situation becomes critical when a shark manages to escape from its cage, setting off a series of terrifying events.

Alongside Susan, the team of researchers includes shark biologist Carter Blake (Thomas Jane), the facility's security expert Dr. Janice Higgins (Saffron Burrows), and a group of workers and technicians who soon find themselves trapped in the facility.
The film takes place in a claustrophobic environment, where the characters must contend not only with the sharks, but also with the growing tension between them. As they try to escape and survive, confrontations and sacrifices take place, adding an element of drama to the story.
One of the film's most memorable moments is the famous scene in which Samuel L. Jackson, who plays the CEO of the company funding the research, gives an inspirational speech about overcoming challenges, only to be surprised and eaten by a shark in an unexpected twist.

The film combines elements of action, horror and suspense, offering a stunning visual experience with special effects that, while they may seem a little dated today, were groundbreaking for their time.
The shark attack scenes are intense and designed to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
As the group of survivors try to find a way out, they face a number of challenges, including flooding in the facility and the increasing intelligence of the sharks, which seem to anticipate their movements. Tension mounts as the characters are forced to make difficult decisions and sacrifice some of their companions in order to survive.
This would have pass well for a good thriller movie suggestion for the cinetv Contest, I can already feel how tensed it must have been in the shark attack scenes. Not sure I'd be able to sit to watch this alone though 😅
