Ghostbusters: Afterlife, a new generation

This is a sci-fi comedy film directed by Jason Reitman, as a direct sequel to the iconic ‘Ghostbusters’ films of the 1980s.

The story focuses on a new generation discovering the legacy of the original Ghostbusters, combining nostalgia with a fresh, modern approach.

The plot follows Callie, played by Carrie Coon, who moves with her two children, Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), to a small town in Oklahoma after the death of their father, Egon Spengler, one of the original Ghostbusters.

Upon arrival, the family finds a dilapidated house belonging to Egon, filled with mysteries and artifacts related to his ghost-hunting past.

Phoebe, an intelligent and curious young girl, begins to investigate her grandfather's history and discovers his connection to paranormal phenomena that have been occurring in the region.

As Phoebe and Trevor explore the house and town, they find the ghostbusters‘ equipment, including the iconic costumes and Ecto-1, the famous ghostbusters’ vehicle.

Together with their new friends, including Podcast (Logan Kim), a paranormal enthusiast, they begin to unravel their grandfather's secrets and confront a new supernatural threat that endangers the community.

The film pays homage to the original Ghostbusters, with cameos by actors Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and an appearance by the late Harold Ramis via digital effects.

These nostalgic moments are interwoven with the new narrative, creating a balance between past and present.

As the characters face their fears and discover their connection to the world of ghostbusters, the film also highlights the idea that heroism can come from unexpected places.
