Thats just one thing common with film adaptations of book, they cannot capture everything but how they tell the story in the film matters. I've not read the books but I'm not surprised by your comment. Hopefully I can read the books before the second season airs.

I think that if you haven't read the books, then the viewing experience is much better. But I would definitely recommend checking out the books. It enriches the experience.

I know that there are limits to novel adaptations, but one also has to be careful not to deviate too much from the original tale. I think that the book explored the relationship between men and women; between cultures and sub-cultures; and the socio-political intricacies of magic in a more intricate and thoughtful manner.

It's still a good show that will mature and grow. So I look forward to the next seasons. 👍
