Superhero movies are always exhilarating —you know, that poor character that no one identifies with who becomes spectacular with extraordinary powers after a turning point in his or her life. Then he or she uses their newfound abilities to rescue the poor and fight the villains, defeating them!
I've watched most superhero movies and Spider Man was my introduction to these kinds of films. I've always wondered why people would ask which of the Spider Man they preferred. I liked Tobey Maguire as Spiderman being the first superhero film I watched. When Andrew Garfield took over as Spiderman, meh, I didn't feel the connection. I still wanted Tobey Maguire for Spiderman and I didn't like how Garfield's movies ended.
Now that Tom Holland is the 'reigning' Spider Man, I think I like his version more! Right from when Tony Stark Jr. aka Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr) found him and inducted him into the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War (2016), I have been impressed with his performance.
Maybe it's his youthfulness but he certainly brings a lot of humour and fun into the Marvel series. I'm glad they gave him his own series and I have been following them ever since.
In the recent sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Peter Parker's identity was revealed to the whole world by Mysterio, the villain from the last sequel following his defeat. This shocking revelation affected his family and friends. They had no privacy and his friends could not get into college. Peter met and persuaded Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a spell and change time so no one would remember who he was. This spell went haywire and everything spiralled out of control resulting in the fusion of the multiverse. It was up to Peter to fix things.
My Review
I see Marvel Studios films as a cinematic masterpiece and this film showcased it the most. The creators did outstandingly by integrating Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Spider Men from other universes to assist Tom Holland in his big decision. It was just spectacular and deserved an applause! I did not expect that this was the direction the film would take.
All three men were amazing and played such a unique Spider-Man. The action-sequences were dynamic, the clever and funny interactions between characters were superb. The cinematography was stunning–particularly were the three Spider Men came together to battle villains from past Spiderman series.
This film made me long for the Avenger movie series. I wish Marvel Studios did not wrap up the franchise that way. They still had more potential that could be explored.
Also, I appreciate that this film built more on Peter Parker's (Tom Holland's) character. In the past films: Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From From (2019), Peter had always relied on his Aunt May for everything. He could not remain a teenager forever. Things changed drastically, it was time for Peter to 'grow up'. He knew pain, heartbreak and had to make decisions that changed lives.
I was amazed to see Daredevil (a Marvel series) given a part in this film. Being a lawyer, he featured in a scene where Peter Parker needed legal counsel.
Overall, I enjoyed this film and give it a 4.8 star out of 5. If you are a Marvel franchise fan and up for some action adventures, you will love this Spider Man sequel.

This was a great Marvel movie. It was a lot more serious than I expected and I like that they really show the consequences of his actions in this film but also highlight how difficult being a hero is since he’s still just a kid.
