Puede que sea un tema un poco fastidioso para algunos que me leen, ya que varias veces he dicho que los Óscares no me importan, y además ya van varios días que pasaron los premios de este año, sin embargo, creo que el top de hoy es interesante no solo para ver que la verdad los óscares no son tan objetivos como los hacen parecer, sino también para comprender un poco por qué digo que no me gustan. Pero, ¿cuál es el top? En la última entrega realmente pensé que el galardón se lo podría llevar Ralph Fiennes por su actuación en conclave, y al no llevárselo, me recordó a algunas de las personas que injustamente no tienen Óscares:

This might be a bit of a bother for some of my readers, as I’ve said several times that I don’t care about the Oscars, and it’s been several days since this year’s awards ceremony. However, I think today’s top list is interesting not only to see that the Oscars really aren’t as objective as they’re made out to be, but also to understand a little why I say I don’t like them. But what’s the top list? In the last post, I really thought the award might go to Ralph Fiennes for his performance in Conclave, and when he didn’t, it reminded me of some of the people who unfairly don’t have Oscars:
Paul Thomas Anderson
Si alguno ha leído mis tops sobre actores, seguramente el nombre de Paul Thomas Anderson les suena de alguna manera, y si no les suena por los posts, tal vez lo haga por ser uno de los directores más amados de los noventa y este siglo. Sin embargo, ser posiblemente el mejor director “contemporáneo” y tener un repertorio de películas casi prácticamente perfecto no le ha bastado para ganarse ningún Óscar. Películas como There Will be Blood, Boogie Nights o incluso Licorice pizza son un ejemplo de como una película puede estar perfectamente dirigida y aun así no ser favorita para los Óscar, por lo que, sobre todo con Paul Thomas Anderson, siento que tiene algún problema con la academia.
Paul Thomas Anderson
If any of you have read my top actor lists, the name Paul Thomas Anderson probably rings a bell in some way. If not from the posts, perhaps it’s because he’s one of the most beloved directors of the 1990’s and this century. However, being arguably the best "contemporary" director and having a near-perfect film repertoire, hasn't been enough to win him an Oscar. Films like “There Will Be Blood“,“Boogie Nights", and even “Licorice Pizza” are examples of how a film can be perfectly directed and still not be an Oscar favorite. Therefore, especially with Paul Thomas Anderson, I feel he has some issues with the Academy.
Luca Guadagnino
Mencioné problemas con la academia y tuve que mencionar inmediatamente a Luca Guadagnino, quien, en mi particular no ha hecho nada que sea merecedor a un Óscar, pero si ha trabajado lo suficiente como para por lo menos estar nominado, cosa que este año no pasó, y tengo que admitir que eso me molesta. Comprendo que “Suspiria”, “Bones And All” o “Call Me By Your Name” no hayan tenido importancia en las temporadas de premios de sus años, pero no haber nominado de ninguna manera a “Challengers” o a “Queer” me hace pensar que no solo los Óscares tienen problema con Luca, sino también con cualquier persona que se atreva a trabajar con él. Y es que, la verdad, no imagino otra razón por la cual no hayan nominado a Trent Reznor por el soundtrack de "Challengers", o a Daniel Craig por su increíble actuación en “Queer”.
Luca Guadagnino
I mentioned problems with the Academy and I immediately had to mention Luca Guadagnino, who, in my opinion, hasn’t done anything worthy of an Oscar, but he’s worked hard enough to at least be nominated, which wasn’t the case this year, and I have to admit that bothers me. I understand that "Suspiria," “Bones and All,” and “Call Me by Your Name” haven’t been important in awards seasons in their years, but the fact that they haven't nominated “Challengers” or “Queer” in any way makes me think that not only do the Oscars have a problem with Luca, but also with anyone who dares to work with him. And honestly, I can’t imagine any other reason why they haven’t nominated Trent Reznor for the “Challengers” soundtrack, or Daniel Craig for his incredible performance in “Queer.”
Bradley Cooper
Y bueno, si había mencionado a personas que tal vez parecen peleadas con la academia, tengo que mencionar a alguien que por contraparte parece que está haciendo todo para obtener un premio. Bradley Cooper me parece un excelente actor y también, con solo dos películas, un increíble director, pero también me parece un poco gracioso que sus campañas para los Óscares son demasiado notorias y que aun así, los premios lo tomen sin pena ni gloria, nominándolo un par de veces, pero sabiendo perfectamente que no va a ganar. Pero no todo son risas, la verdad es que la carrera de Bradley Cooper es una de mis cosas favoritas en el cine moderno.

And well, if I had mentioned people who perhaps seem to be at odds with the academy, I have to mention someone who on the other hand seems to be doing everything to get an award. Bradley Cooper seems to me an excellent actor and also, with only two films, an incredible director, but I also find it a little funny that his campaigns for the Oscars are too notorious and that even so, the awards take him without shame or glory, nominating him a couple of times but knowing perfectly well that he is not going to win. But it's not all laughs, the truth is that Bradley Cooper's career is one of my favorite things in modern cinema.

Bradley Cooper not winning an Oscar is a huge injustice. Man is talented beyond belief, but oh well. We know how these things are.
In my opinion, Bradley Cooper deserve it.
