Volviendo a la carrera de los Oscars, sabiendo que la mayoría de las películas ya las mencione en mi post anterior, me tuve que poner un poco más selectivo y no hablar de categorías casi obvias como lo son mejor actor, mejor actriz, mejor actor de reparto, mejor actriz de reparto o mejor dirección, así que hoy toca hablar de la mejor categoría de los Oscars este año, la de mejor película animada. La animación en los Oscars siempre ha sido ninguneada ya que la mayoría del tiempo la gana Disney sin importar la calidad de la película que este nominada ese año, pero esta vez la cosa se ve muy diferente y esta de favorita una película independiente sin nada de dialogo que llega incluso a tener una animación tosca. Flow está muy cercana a ganar el Oscar y como aun no la he visto, es hora de dar mi top tres a películas que creo que podrían quitarle la estatuilla:

Going back to the Oscars race, knowing that most of the films I already mentioned in my previous post, I had to be a little more selective and not talk about almost obvious categories such as best actor, best actress, best supporting actor, best supporting actress or best direction, so today I will talk about the best category of the Oscars this year, best animated film. Animation at the Oscars has always been ignored since most of the time it is won by Disney regardless of the quality of the film nominated that year, but this time it looks very different and this time the favorite is an independent film without any dialogue that even has a crude animation. Flow is very close to winning the Oscar and since I haven't seen it yet, it's time to give my top three films that I think could take away the statuette:
Robot salvaje
película hermosa, dura y cruda pero sin dejar de ser una película para todas las edades. Robot salvaje va sobre un robot que al quedarse varado en una isla comienza a buscar algo que cumpla con su programación: un ser vivo a quien poder ayudar. Después de conseguir un huevo de ganso y criarlo como si fuese su hijo, la historia sigue a esta “familia” con un mensaje hermoso sobre la maternidad, el crecer y el quererse a sí mismo, con una animación hermosa y un humor que quedó perfecto, sinceramente antes de que Flow empezara a estar en la boca de todos, creí que robot salvaje sería la clara favorita. Ahora solo toca esperar a la premiación a ver qué pasa.
Wild robot
beautiful, hard and raw film, but still a film for all ages. Wild Robot is about a robot that gets stranded on an island and starts looking for something that fulfills its programming: a living being to help. After getting a goose egg and raising it as if it were his child, the story follows this “family” with a beautiful message about motherhood, growing up and loving oneself, with beautiful animation and humor that was perfect, honestly before Flow started to be on everyone's lips, I thought that Wild Robot would be the clear favorite. Now we just have to wait for the awards to see what happens.
Memorias de un Caracol
Adam Elliot es un artista y un director increíble. Creo que solo ha hecho dos películas contando memorias de un caracol, pero es que sus dos películas son una cosa extraordinaria, con una belleza y una inocencia que me recuerda un poco a la narración de Forrest Gump contando toda su vida. Memorias de un caracol nos muestra la vida de Grace, quien fue separada de su hermano siamés al nacer, y a partir de ahí vemos como con humor y con una historia simple pero linda, Grace toma confianza en sí misma contándonos partes de su vida en un stop motion que es tan tierno como hipnótico.
Memories of a Snail
Adam Elliot is an incredible artist and director. I think he has only made two films telling the story of a snail, but his two films are extraordinary, with a beauty and an innocence that reminds me a little of Forrest Gump's narration telling his life story. Memoirs of a snail shows us the life of Grace, who was separated from her Siamese brother at birth, and from there we see how with humor and with a simple but cute story, Grace takes confidence in herself telling us parts of her life in a stop motion that is as tender as hypnotic.
Wallace y Gromit
esta es una de mis sagas de animación favorita, y es interesante como esta vez los oscars han optado por un catálogo tan diverso en cuanto a películas de animación se trata. A pesar de que me hubiese gustado ver look back dentro de las nominadas, ver a Wallace y gromit, a robot salvaje, una película independiente y memorias de un caracol, para mi es una cosa increíble. Ahora con la última entrega de Wallace y Gromit sucede algo interesante, porque no es ni de cerca la mejor de la saga, pero sigue siendo super entretenida, con una crítica a la inteligencia artificial y un humor muy característico de la saga.
Wallace and Gromit
this is one of my favorite animated sagas, and it's interesting how this time the oscars have opted for such a diverse catalog of animated films. Although I would have liked to see look back within the nominees, seeing Wallace and Gromit, Wild Robot, an independent film and Memoirs of a Snail, for me is an amazing thing. Now with the last installment of Wallace and Gromit something interesting happens, because it is not even close to the best of the saga, but it is still super entertaining, with a critique of artificial intelligence and a very characteristic humor of the saga.
