Selecting an action movie can be quite an odyssey for me, the genre is too broad and there are too many options to choose from. There are many tapes that have left something in our memories; That's how interesting this new Contest is in my dear cinephile community and after thinking about it a bit, I I decided for one of which I have very pleasant memories: Jackie Chan and his work: Who am I? From 1998. And I'll explain why.

Hay muchas cintas que nos han dejado algo en nuestros recuerdos; así de interesante es este nuevo Contest en mi querida comunidad cinéfila y luego de pensarlo un poco, me decidí por una de la que tengo muy gratas remembranzas: Jackie Chan y su obra: Quién soy yo? De 1998. Y ya les explico el por qué.
Personally, Jackie Chan is one of my references par excellence in action movies, especially on the subject of martial arts. And it is that in every movie of this genre there should always be good fights. Of course, there is an extra element that Jackie brings and it is the realism that he transmits in his film productions. It is well known that the actor does difficult scenes himself, without the use of doubles of risk and that is admirable.
Likewise, I admit that at the end of each tape I stay watching the review of the failed scenes and the way they carry out the details ha ha ha. It's something that I like and that I originally attribute to Chan, since today we see this section replicated in many films of other genres and styles. But in this, I consider Jackie one of the pioneers and it is a great point in his favor.
En lo personal, Jackie Chan es uno de mis referentes por excelencia de las películas de acción, sobre todo en el tema de las artes marciales. Y es que en toda película de este género siempre debe haber buenas peleas. Claro está, que hay un elemento extra que aporta Jackie y se trata del realismo que transmite en sus producciones cinematográficas. Es bien conocido que el actor hace él mismo, las escenas difíciles sin el uso de dobles de riesgo y eso es admirable.
Asimismo, admito que al final de cada cinta me quedo viendo el repaso de las escenas fallidas y la manera cómo realizan los detalles ja,ja,ja. Es algo que me gusta y que le atribuyo originalmente a Chan, dado que en la actualidad vemos esta sección replicarse en muchas películas de otros géneros y estilos. Pero en esto, considero a Jackie uno de los pioneros y es un gran punto a su favor.

In relation to the tapes that I chose from this popular martial artist, I must say that (Who am I) practically forms a family memory ha ha ha. I say this because in those years, we only had a TV in the living room of the house and we all enjoyed movie Sundays. It was interesting to see that among my brothers we had different points of view regarding each work, but we also agreed on the good of each experience. Then Jackie took the applause without exception.
En relación a las cintas que escogí de este popular artista marcial, debo decir que (Quién soy yo) forma prácticamente un recuerdo familiar ja,ja,ja. Digo esto porque en aquellos años, solo teníamos una TV en la sala de la casa y todos disfrutábamos de los domingos de películas. Era interesante ver que entre mis hermanos teníamos puntos de vista distintos respecto a cada obra, pero también coincidíamos en lo bueno de cada experiencia. Entonces Jackie se llevaba los aplausos sin excepción.

In Who am I, we see everything from survival racing techniques and rallies, to spectacular chases and fights on the rooftops of tall buildings. The physical form of this great artist is admirable, who crosses the acting barrier until he looks like an acrobat (even making one imagine being able to do what he ha ha ha).
En esta famosa película del año 98 podemos apreciar todo tipo de ocurrencias, siempre con un toque de diversión o algo de comedia, pero sin perder el objetivo de entretener sin dejarnos pestañear. En Quién soy yo, vemos desde técnicas de supervivencia y carreras de rallys, hasta persecuciones y espectaculares peleas en las azoteas de altos edificios. Es admirable la forma física de éste gran artista, que traspasa la barrera de la actuación hasta parecer todo un acróbata (incluso logrando que uno se imaginé poder hacer lo que él ja,ja,ja).

Now, I will cite another Jackie Chan movie and it is the well-known Rush Hour 3, which he made with Chris Tucker in 2007. It is another good movie to see a lot of varied action, people fighting on the edge of high-rise buildings and spectacular falls, but in my personal opinion, it is not as good as the one I have quoted first.
Por ejemplo, la batalla contra los especialistas en peleas con golpes y patadas es épica, así como su salto y caída por los las ventanas del edificio inclinado. I wouldn't like to touch other people's feelings but, in all honesty, I didn't like it in terms of Tucker's dances while fighting martial arts. It's true that it's funny, but then the tape leans more towards comedy and I don't see it as a success. This week we saw it at home and my children like it, they laugh a lot with those dances but from a more objective perspective, they don't add much to the film. Although I really like the explosive couple of these two actors, who together also honor action movies.
No me gustaría tocar los sentimientos de otros pero, en honor a la verdad no me gustó en cuanto a los bailes de Tucker mientras peleaba artes marciales. Es cierto que da risa, pero entonces inclina más la cinta hacia la comedia y no lo veo como un acierto. Esta semana la vimos en casa y a mis hijos les gusta, ríen mucho con esos bailes pero desde una mirada más objetiva, no aportan mayor cosa a la cinta. Aunque de verdad me gusta la pareja explosiva de estos dos actores, que juntos hacen honor a las películas de acción.
