Main character is portrayed by Rebel Wilson.

This movie is about a teen girl in the late 90's to early 2000's then to 2022.
On her 14th birthday she realises what she wants to be like: she wants to be the picture perfect popular girl who ends up being prom queen. Who has the perfect body, perfect friends, perfect boyfriend . A few years later she has all that... And she's about to become prom queen. But then things go horribly wrong when she gets into an accident.
It then shifts to 20 years later to 2022 when she wakes up from her coma. She is still a 17 year old girl but in a 37 year old womans' body. She doesn't know how far technology is. Or what slurs are appropiate to use. But the one thing she does know is that she wants to be Prom Queen.
What I liked the most about the movie was that they had actors who were more known like Rebel but also had actors who weren't as well known like Avantika Vandanapu.
But now on to my favorite people in the movie and the least.
My favorite actually wasn't the main character but Janet Singh, played by Avantika Vandanapu, as I really liked the character she portrayed.
My least favorite was Tiffany played by Zoë Carol Chao.
What I liked about the movie itself was that it was funny, with some elements of drama.
The dance scenes were well choreographed.
As expected Rebel's presence in the movie made for good laugh without ever making it boring.

I saw this one last week and it was a nice watch, although I found her perform stronger in other comedies and I could not stop wondering what looks so different about her, lol. It was distracting me a bit. But it was a nice one to watch, thanks for sharing!
!CTP !1UP
She probably looks different because Rebel Wilson has lost a lot of weight !
There's a big difference between her then and her now.
And yes that's true she was less funny in this movie but it was still a good movie :)
Yes, that was the conclusion I had as well, it happens with some people that suddenly this makes them look totally different.
I agree, it still was!
Her weight loss was so distracting but she looked really good.
Yeah, For me it was too. But she suits it. Just freaky to think she's not "Fat amy" anymore.

My daughter and I tried to watch this as the advert looked funny, but we found it too cringey to watch. I think we got 30mins in before my daughter suggested we watch some Glee instead !
I was cringing hard too 😁

I rmb seeing this trailer and put it in my mind for the watch later list and totally forget about it. Now, I am really tempted to watch it.
Yeah, Rebel wasn't as funny as she usually was but I think it was more because of the script and not really her doing. I still love her though!
Thank you for the review. Very well done for your first one!
I always thought she made everything funny. The script was really really bad then. I didn't like this movie at all.
Yeah, I thought she made everything funny too.
But what she did, may not always be what the producer/director wants.
It was definitely the least of her movies.
Hopefully she'll be her funny self again next time :)
I will put this on my watch list. Thanks for the review.
