The grown-Ish tv series is a spin-off from the amazing Black-ish tv series. It focuses on the life of a teenager after they leave their parent's care and start a new life in college, chasing a career and assuming some responsibility in the real world.

Zoey Johnson is the main character in this tv spinoff from the Black-ish series, we follow her as she explores what campus life means, what chasing a career means, what falling in love means, what having friends means, what growing up means, and most of all what being black means.
The story is mostly set on campus and focuses on real-life problems that affect real-life people on campus before they graduate. It talks about discrimination based on color, discrimination based on ethnicity, discrimination based on religion, and discrimination on nationality. It also briefly touches on the story of students who become mothers before graduation and how they fight to surpass the challenges.

The fact that this series can highlight prominent points affecting the society makes it one of my favorite shows.
It's also one of those tv shows where the main character tends to have one of those out-of-the-moment interactions with the camera. And although Zoey is an excellent character portrayed by Yara Shahidi, the character that resonates with me the most in the series is Luka.
Luka Sabbat is one of Zoey's friends whose goal is to become one of the top fashion designers in New York, he is really chill and usually preaches the gospel of Hakuna Matata. This character portrayed by Luca Hall resonates with me because he is just like me. It was like watching myself outside myself. I knew I had a lazy character but I didn't realize I was that bad. At some point, I started disliking him and disliking myself until I changed. And, it was because of this movie, that I was able to apply more effort to the things I do in life. Although the original series involving the original cast has come to an end, I still love this series because it shines a bright light on traits or characters exhibited by us, which most of us tend to turn a blind eye to.

Another reason I appreciate this series is because it preaches friendship. The last time I saw a film that preached true friendship was three years ago and that film, friends was also amazing.
Watching this series will make you appreciate your friends more as it has helped me appreciate mine better, it will also help you, in turn, to be better in your social life, In case you are the type that prefers to hang out alone.

And although the story of Zoey Johnson, has finally been concluded, I can't wait to see what season five holds for Andrea Johnson Junior(also from Black-ish).
