I was a little boy, every Friday on Channel 2 of Venezuela, (Radio Caracas Television), there was a program called Señor Cine, the problem was that it started at the stroke of midnight and ended at 3 A.M. My mother, trusting that I was going to fall asleep, let me watch it. One of the movies I once tuned in was called It Happened One Night, I didn't understand much of what was going on since it was set in a time unknown to me when I was 7 years old, but I was very interested in a woman who showed her legs to get a ride, a man who was very big-eared and ate carrots like Bugs Bunny, they also slept together but in separate beds and in the middle there was an extended sheet and they said it was the walls of Jerico.
My passion for movies grew as the years went by and I was finally able to understand between reading movie monographs and watching the DVD what the movie was about:
In 1934, a wealthy heiress marries a Don Juán, but her father forces her to divorce, so she escapes from the family yacht in Miami by swimming. In order to join her husband in New York, she buys a bus ticket and must share a seat with Peter Warne, (Clark Gable), who is a recently fired journalist. He recognizes Ellen Andrews from a photo in a newspaper, and offers to take her to New York to get the scoop on her story. Along the way they are forced to share seats, lean on each other as they nod off on the bus, hitch rides from strangers, and spend the night in the same roadside motel room, among other situations.

The film influenced the decrease in flannel sales that year, since in one scene Clark Gable, when taking off his clothes, has no flannel under his shirt. It was already the fashion not to wear flannel.
Los rumores dicen que la personalidad de Bugs Bunny se basa en los gestos y la forma de hablar de Gable en la película.
Rumor has it that Bugs Bunny's personality is based on Gable's mannerisms and way of speaking in the movie.
At the end of the film the owners of a motel are surprised why a newlywed couple asks for a sheet, a clothesline and a small trumpet. As I look at the cabin, the trumpet sounds and the lights go out. I finally understand that these are the walls of Jericho.

Great post about old film! Gotta love Clark Gable and too funny that he has a Bugs Bunny connection!
Thanks for your interest in the post, within the same style I recommend the comedy Bringing Up Baby, in Latin America La Adorable Revoltosa. It is considered the best Screwball comedy of all time. If you watch this kind of movies you understand later films that have copied many old ideas.
