Would you play a game of life and death for sport?

IMDb

Apex is a 2021 action/sci-fi movie starring one of my favorites, Bruce Willis. In this movie, he plays an innocent ex-cop (Thomas Malone) who was imprisoned falsely and is serving a life sentence. He suddenly gets a shot at freedom but his life is put at stake because, to gain his freedom he has to play a twisted game with six skilled killers (wealthy elites) that paid to hunt him for sport on a remote island, as soon as he gets there, traps and mind games laid waiting for him but he soon turns the tide around and the hunters become the prey.

My Thoughts

For me, this movie was below my expectations especially the plot, when it comes to movies acted by Bruce Willis, I expect full action, great storyline and good effects (like '24') but this didn't cover all that so it's a mixed feeling of love and hate I have for this movie.
When I first saw the movie cover, I was excited and ready to see it but watching it reduced the love I have for Bruce Willis a bit, I feel he should retire (but I also wish his last movie is a huge hit so it'll restore the lost love I had for him) I also feel he should stop working on movies like this with poor plots but before I digress, I loved some parts of this movie, like the part where he (Thomas Malone) sat calmly smoking while waiting patiently for the remaining hunters to come fall prey for his trap, I also can't get over the part where the land mines positioned for the prey becomes not just a threat to the hunter but probably the last thing he thought about before exploding to a million little pieces.

I also love how they got confused about this seemingly ordinary cop that pulled a fast one on them.

The actor I loved most in this movie is Neal McDonough, I can't explain why I love him in this movie, maybe it's because of his handsome features or how he seemed so calm and comported or the color of his beautiful eyes, it's probably his eyes and features that made me love his acting but in all, he was the one that left an impression on me the most.

This is my entry to the cinetv community contest, movie that represents winning
