First of all cordial greetings to the CineTv community, this is the second contest in which I participate in this community, and the truth in this participation I see myself in trouble, because when talking about my favorite actress, the first names that came to my head were Rachell Weisz in films like the Faithful Gardener, Disobedience. Agora and others.
But I also thought of that enormous and versatile actress Ennma Thompson, in roles such as what she did in films like Acuity, The Song of Lunch, Dead Again and of course the unforgettable role she played in the film Henry V, alongside Kenneth Branagh, who was also the screenwriter of the film, and is one of my favorite actors.
However, although these great actresses were the first to come to my mind, I still have in my memory an actress, whose work has been impacting me in a very pleasant way and whose characters played by her have left me a lot, with her dialogues, her strength and her staging.
And although she is a European actress, very little known, in this opportunity I choose her, since I recently re-watched three of her films, and despite the time elapsed, there are still scenes and dialogues of her films, fresh in my memory. I am referring to the German actress Barbara Sukova.
Barbara Sukova, born in Germany in 1950, is a stage actress, film actress and singer, currently has two children and a partner. She is active as an actress since the year 1971, she has worked in several films since the eighties; however, I can talk about three of them which are the ones I have seen, Vision from the year 2009, Rose of Luxembourg from 1986 and Hannah Arendt from the year 2012.
All these films have something in common, the first is that they are biographical films, the second and not less important is that all these films are directed by Margarethe von Trotta. But for me the most relevant thing is that in each of these films, Ms. Barbara Sukova with her performance, makes one live and admire the character she portrays.
In a film like Vision, which can be classified as slow by the audience accustomed to Hollywood cinema, it is a film that narrates the life of a German nun, named Hildegard von Bingen, who has visions of God since she was a child, and who in her adulthood must face within the convent, must face prejudice, ignorance and the conception of the world from a sexist and misogynist vision, which is still maintained in many religious orders today.
Although the film may be a little slow for some tastes, it can not be denied that it is a film that captures the viewer, and that has some characteristics and historical accuracy, very well worked. To see the film Vision in Spanish you can do it through this link.
Another film that catches and that is very well worked by the actress Barbara Sukova, is Rosa Luxemburg, a biographical film of one of the most recognized German leftist leader in history.
In this film Barbara Sukova, has a wonderful interpretation, in fact in the film there is a scene where she says this phrase "Without general elections, without freedom of the press, without freedom of expression and assembly, without the free struggle of opinions, life in all public institutions is extinguished, it becomes a caricature of itself in which only the bureaucracy remains as an active element". That makes that whoever has read something of Rosa Luxemburg, feels immediately empathized with the film.

Finally, I will talk about the last film I saw of Barabara Sukova, where she plays one of the most important philosophers of the twentieth century as Hannah Arendt.
The film, named after Hannah Arendt, is based on a real situation that occurs in the life of the philosopher, when she goes from the United States of America to Israel to cover the trial of Adolf Eichmann, there Ardent, tells us about the banality of evil and questions many things that society took for granted.
The film is very good, for my taste it has no waste, the performances are unsurpassable and it is very close to reality, in fact if we see on Youtube, some of the interviews with Hanna Ardent, we will see that Barabara Sukova gets fully into the character, especially when in a discussion she says one of her most famous phrases which is "Evil cannot be banal and radical at the same time. Evil is an extreme reality, but never radical. Conscious and radical can only be good."

Anyway, for these three films and her extraordinary performance and for the fact that I have not been able to forget any of her scenes or dialogues, I choose Barbara Sukova as my favorite actress for this contest, but without underestimating the excellent work done by the other actresses named in this post, in fact if the question had been in plural I would speak and vote for the three of them.

Concurso CineTV. Barabara Sukova, mi actriz preferida de este mes.
Antes que nada cordiales saludos a la comunidad de CineTv, este es el segundo concurso en el que participo en esta comunidad, y la verdad en esta participación me veo en problemas, ya que al hablar de mi actriz favorita, los primeros nombres que se me vinieron a la cabeza fueron Rachell Weisz en películas como el Jardinero Fiel, Desobediencia. Agora y otras.
Pero también pensé en esa enorme y versátil actriz que es Ennma Thompson, en papeles como lo que realizó en películas como Agudeza, The Song of Lunch, Dead Again y por supuesto el inolvidable papel que realizó en la película Enrique V, junto a Kenneth Branagh, quien además fue el guionista de la película, y es uno de mis actores preferidos.
Sin embargo, aunque estas grandes actrices fueron las primeras en venir a mi cabeza, aún tengo en la memoria a una actriz, cuyo trabajo me ha venido impactando de manera muy grata y cuyos personajes interpretados por ella me han dejado mucho, con sus diálogos, su fuerza y su puesta en escena.
Y aunque es una actriz europea, muy poco conocida, en esta oportunidad me decanto por ella, dado que hace poco tiempo volví a ver tres de sus películas, y a pesar del tiempo transcurrido, todavía hay, escenas y diálogos de sus películas, frescas en mi memoria. Me refiero a la actriz, alemana Bárbara Sukova.
Bárbara Sukova, nació en Alemania en 1950, es actriz de teatro, actriz de cine y cantante, actualmente tiene dos hijos y tiene su pareja. Está activa como actriz desde el año de 1971, ha trabajado en varias películas desde los años ochenta; sin embargo, yo puedo hablar de tres de ellas que son las que he visto, Visión del año 2009, Rosa de Luxemburgo de 1986 y Hannah Arendt del año 2012.
Todas estas películas tienen algo en común, la primera es que son películas biográficas, la segunda y no menos importante es que todas estas películas están dirigidas por Margarethe von Trotta. Pero para mí lo más relevante es que en cada una de estas películas, la señora Bárbara Sukova con su interpretación, hace que uno viva y admire al personaje que ella representa.
En una película como Visión, la cual puede ser catalogada como lenta por la audiencia acostumbrada al cine hollywoodense, es una película que nos narra la vida de una monja alemana, de nombre Hildegard von Bingen, que tiene visiones de Dios desde que era niña, y que ya en su edad adulta debe enfrentar dentro del convento, debe enfrentar los prejuicios, la ignorancia y la concepción del mundo desde una visión machista y misoginia, que aún se mantiene en buena parte de las órdenes religiosas de hoy en día.
Aunque la película puede ser un poco lenta para algunos gustos, no se puede negar que es una película, que atrapa al espectador, y que tiene unas características y una rigurosidad histórica, muy bien trabajada. Para ver la película Visión en español lo pueden hacer a través de este enlace.
Otra película que atrapa y que está muy bien trabajada por la actriz Bárbara Sukova, es Rosa de Luxemburgo, una película biográfica de una de la que tal vez ha sido la líder de izquierda alemana más reconocida en la historia.
En esta película Bárbara Sukova, tiene una interpretación maravillosa, de hecho en la película hay una escena donde dice esta frase “Sin elecciones generales, sin libertad de prensa, sin libertad de expresión y reunión, sin la lucha libre de opiniones, la vida en todas las instituciones públicas se extingue, se convierte en una caricatura de sí misma en la que únicamente queda la burocracia como elemento activo”. Que hace que aquel que haya leído algo de Rosa de Luxemburgo, se sienta inmediatamente compenetrado con la película.

Por último, hablaré de la última película que vi de Barabara Sukova, donde interpreta a una de las filósofas más importantes del siglo XX como lo es Hannah Arendt.
La película, que lleva el nombre de Hannah Arendt, está basada en una situación real que se presenta en la vida de la filósofa, cuando va desde Estados Unidos de América a Israel a cubrir el juicio de Adolf Eichmann, ahí Ardent, nos habla de la banalidad del mal y pone en tela de juicio muchas cosas que la sociedad daba por hecho.
La película es muy buena, para mi gusto no tiene desperdicio, las actuaciones son insuperables y se acerca bastante a la realidad, de hecho si vemos en Youtube, alguna de las entrevistas a Hanna Ardent, veremos que Barabara Sukova se mete de lleno en el personaje, sobre todo cuando en una discusión dice una de sus frases más célebres que es “El mal no puede ser banal y radical al mismo tiempo. El mal es una realidad extrema, pero nunca radical. Consciente y radical solamente puede ser el bien.”

En fin, por estas tres películas y su extraordinaria actuación y por el hecho de no haber podido olvidar ni parte de sus escenas, ni de sus diálogos, es que escojo para este concurso a Bárbara Sukova, como mi actriz preferida, pero sin menos preciar el excelente trabajo realizado, por las otras actrices nombradas en este post, de hecho si hubiese sido la pregunta en plural hablaría y votaría por las tres.

Oye, te confieso que no sabía de la existencia de esta actriz, sin embargo con todo lo que cuentas sobre ella, me da mucha curiosidad, sobre todo me llama la atención la película Vision, ya que si bien no la he visto, sí conozco la historia.

Hola @mairene1, me alegra te haya gustado, te cuento que Bárbara Sukova esta haciendo cine desde la década de los 80 y tiene películas excelentes, en el post están los enlaces para tres de ellas si las deseas ver.
Para ti, que te encanta estudiar el tema del holocausto, te recomiendo la película sobre Hannah Ardent, estoy seguro la vas a disfrutar y además vas a ver otra visión del holocausto, que es la del juicio a uno de los principales genocidas del pueblo judío.
