There are many movies that talk about genius but few that tell the story in a human way that touches the heart and Good Will Hunting is one of those movies The movie talks about Will Hunting a genius young man who has an innate talent for mathematics but his life is far from the success and luxury that anyone could imagine He works as a janitor at MIT and instead of being at the top of the world he lives his life among his friends in bars and on the streets as if he does not care about everything he can achieve.
What attracted me in the movie was not only the idea of someone having an exceptional talent but that he refuses to use it or rather doesnt believe that he deserves a better life Will is not only clever he is a genius in every sense of the word but at the same time he is a psychologically broken person full of complexes because of his harsh childhood All of this changes when he meets Dr Sean Maguire played by Robin Williams with creativity that makes you feel like you are sitting with him in psychological sessions The scenes between them were heavy their feelings were so real that you feel like you are being treated with them.
The dialogue in the movie is brilliant simple but it reaches the depths of the human soul The sentence that affected me the most was when Sean said to Will Its not your fault he kept repeating this word until the boy collapsed as if everything inside him was waiting for someone to say this to him How much this sentence touched me because it reminded me that we all have old wounds and we need someone to comfort us and tell us that we are not alone.
Good Will Hunting is not just a movie about a genius in mathematics it is a story about fear about friendship about a person having to face himself before he can face the world A movie that makes you think about your life about the talents you may have put aside and about the people who can change your life with a word.
