Today, I watched a Tamil Movie after a long time on Netflix. The title is 'Meiyazhagan'. Translated, it means a handsome man. It is a beautiful story and very well acted by the two male lead actors Karthi and Arvind Swamy.

The movie opens with a sad scene where a young man is tearfully bidding goodbye to his town. His family is seen loading a delivery truck with their stuff and his uncles are desperately trying to stop them from leaving. His dad is determined to leave the place for good. Conniving relatives usurped their house and they have no other option but to leave. Arul as the young man is called gifts his bicycle to a relative he knew. Before parting, he also bids goodbye to his baby cousin sister who is very attached to him.

Arul is then shown as a middle-aged man later. He lives in a rented house in Chennai city with his wife, daughter, and parents. He is all set to leave for his hometown where his cousin sister is getting married the next day. He is reluctant to leave but his wife encourages him to go and meet his relatives.

Arul reaches his destination and he visits his ancestral home and feels sad. he then visits the marriage hall where he is greeted by his uncle. He is later greeted by a young man who recognizes him but Arul cannot remember his name at all. He tries to give the gift to the bride and leave but the young man tallies behind and keeps on talking animatedly. Arul gifts so many ornaments to the bride who is very happy to see him. Arul and his relatives eat dinner and he prepares to leave that night itself. However, he misses the bus because the young man delays him. Arul is very angry but agrees to stay at the young man's house because the lodge nearby is not very clean.

Arul is happy at the hospitality of the young man and his wife. He has a few drinks with him and gets to meet his bull. The young man now very intoxicated mutters in his sleep that Arul did not call him by his name. Arul is very sad and leaves without bidding goodbye.

After reaching his house, he tells his wife and daughter about the young man and his family. Meanwhile, he decides to buy his rented house but is short of funds and asks his uncle for money. His uncle in turn mentions that to the young man. Arul's daughter telephones the young man and hands the mobile to her dad who is hesitant at first but the young man with his natural talent for speaking cheerfully soon makes Arul agree that he will accept money from him to buy the house. Arul is moved by his gesture. The young man then starts giving clues to name him and he then remembers that he used to be called Potato. The young man challenges him to say his real name but Arul asks him to hang up and then is seen rushing toward the young man's house. He knocks at the door calling out Potato loudly but the door is not opened. He then calls out his real name - Meiyazhagan and then the young man opens the door, very happy.

It is not a masala movie where there are fights or romance or any serious plot but the storyline reveals the deeply emotional family ties and how it affects humans. Arul is portrayed by Arvind Swamy and Meiyazhagan by Karthi who are both endearing.

You can watch this on Netflix.

I am not sure when I will get time to review this one. But I got to watch Hisaab Barabar last weekend. It was fun but the ending was the same as other Bollywood nonsense

Hmmm al really not a fan of non action movie, but it seems this one portrays about family and what help they can render, maybe I'll give it a view
