Now I know that I said in my last movie post that I wouldn't post here for a while because of my exams ๐
And that earlier statement still stands, it's just that I started this series and finished it before the exams so why not post about it early too?๐

Following his release from prison, mafia capo Dwight "The General" Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire with a group of unlikely characters.~Source
Now I've been free since Monday this week and a student can only read so much, so I decided to unwind with this crime blockbuster series and since I still have at least 1 and a half days before my next paper, I thought I could squeeze in another post here๐.
So here's my short review...
๐พ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐
One selling point for me was when the main character was Sylvester Stallone (The General). He played his role so well, showing an experienced New York mobster with ethics who was locked up and released to a foreign land and time.
It's a really hard role to play and I think no one could've done it better than the old bull Stallone.
The other casts played their role admirably well, which is something that is appreciated in a movie of such genre. When the actors and actresses, body language, voice pitch, etc can really ruin a mood that was building up.
Thankfully it went perfectly and all was well๐

I don't know why, but I just think that this is something that should be appreciated because it's so easy to mess up the setting of a location that was before considered easy.
I read somewhere (although I've forgotten where๐
) that the set of a film is what transports the viewers mind into the film.
Well my mind was definitely transported into this Oklahoma wilderness.
Being taken through the rough bar and the small yet comfy looking hotels, it'll feel like it's you holding the trigger questioning a bike gang member.

Some may see this aspect of my movie reviews and be like what's the need to talk about this.
Well those some clearly don't know what bad cinematography can do to an otherwise great movie.
When the graphics are grainy and the sound is muffled it's just a major turn-off to viewers.
Although Tulsa King didn't slack off on this either, making sure that everything was heard clearly and everything was seen well, completed the virtual transportation that the set had started.

Well this series was an amazing watch and short too making it a perfect option to binge watch in-between exams๐๐.
10 episodes of Stallone. So buckle up your boots, clean your hats and enter your Lincoln SUVS boys. We're going to Tulsaโญ๐ด๐ค .
Yep๐, sounds pretty promising - looks like Stallone has no plans to retire. Ok, i'll give the first episode a chance.
P.S. if k don't like this series, i'll come back and give you a big downvote. ok,โบ๏ธ just kidding i'm not doing that - I love the review. All๐ the best๐ !PGM !LOOLZ !PIZZA

I need to watch this!
You do๐
My husband and I watched this. It was entertaining, but kind of funny in some ways too. It seemed to me they were making a conscious nod to the whole mob genre of films. Stallone definitely is the show. For his age, he does a good job. That works largely because he doesn't pretend to be anything but a 70something-year-old man. If you catch the credits, his daughter appears in the show as Spencer.
Good review, @seki1. I like the way you cover the technical aspects of the film.
Yh...
I like the fact that they didn't try to tone down that fact..
One would expect that since it's an action film, the main actor be invulnerable, but here they made it as realistic as it could be..
Just an over 70 age mobster trying to make a honest-ish living ๐
