I don’t know, but from my point of view the performances were remarkable. The actors’ performances take the film to another level. Luke Evans brings a captivating intensity to the role he plays, a man caught between duty and feelings. He portrays his character with a perfect combination of vulnerability and determination, making the viewer resonate with the difficult choices he has to make.
Lun-Mei Gwei impresses with the complexity she brings to Mei, a character who navigates between loyalty to the union that offered her protection and the desire to escape the dark world she has been trapped in. The dynamic between the two is electrifying, and their moments together are filled with emotional tension and genuine chemistry - something that is quite rare in such cinematic genres.
The fight scenes are meticulously choreographed, providing an impressive visual spectacle, but without sacrificing realism. Each confrontation is a well-synchronized dance, but which manages to maintain a sense of unpredictability. A standout moment is a tense chase through a shopping mall, where every wrong step can be fatal.
