When we talk about one of the most powerful and inspiring movies I really enjoyed, then Srikanth will definitely sit comfortably amongst the top because of its realistic storyline that's a biography of an actual individual named Srikanth Bolla, who's a visually impaired industrialist. His life story hit some cord in me because he literally dared to be different, and because of that, he went on to achieve the impossible.

The role was played by Rajkumar Rao, and I must say that his performance was outstanding, as he nuanced the character, and the major thing that strikes me most about this beauty is the message of the movie, which preaches for us to not let our limitations hold us back. Even though I've heard several testimonies and motivational speeches on that topic, I must say that Srikanth's story is a testament to our human will, spirit, resilience, determination, and capacity to go beyond our limits.
So the movie began by showing Srikanth being born into a poor Indian family in a remote village, although at first the father was overjoyed about his birth and even had paid a visit to the beer spot to drink before going home joyful to see his son; unfortunately, despite he was met with his appointment when the son he proclaimed to be the apple of his father's eyes, he ended up not having eyes, and the father was full of hurt and concern about how he'll survive, and it even got to a point where he tried to bury him alive, all thanks to his wife's plea that stopped him from going ahead with that.
He gets up with lots of challenges and was even deemed to be more of a burden to those around him, but amidst all these challenges, disabilities, limitations, and the likes, he was determined to study and become something in life, even though his first set of teachers and classmates discriminated against him.
He was later privileged to learn at a school for the visually impaired, and there he met a teacher who helped him accomplish most of his dreams. One of the most defining moments in the movie was when he was denied the opportunity to study a science course, and he had to take the school system to court. He fights his case against the system and wins.
showing that he's someone who does not give up or let the system or how things are done in the past halt his own dream; instead, he fought for what he wanted, and at the end of the day, a part was created for people of his kind, and that went on to pave the way for future generations of people who suffered the same fate as him and wanted to become something in life.
He went on to gain admission to study at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which is a groundbreaking achievement, because he was the first person with such a disability to ever do that. He went on to learn, as the movie showcases his journey through MIT and how it shapes his path to being the entrepreneur he ended up becoming.
After his program at MIT, he later returned to India, and he decided to use his knowledge and experience to help other visually impaired people like him, which went on to change the narrative, which went on to show that his life story is an inspiration to many, as this phase of his life shows he's not only someone who beat the status quo and survived but also a game changer that went on to help our community.
There was a plot twist that made the movie even more intriguing, and that's when he faced some personal struggles when he tried to get revenge on a childhood friend who mocked him about his blindness and how he was almost consumed by his political ambition to be the first blind president of India, leading to him doing some not-so-good things, but then it's an indication that we're all humans.
and he, being able to call himself back to order thanks to his teacher and his own mind, shows that she's just human like every one of us and that having someone we all can listen to and trust to guide us towards the right direction regardless of what's going on is a necessity for anyone who wants to go far and do the right thing while doing that.
In a nutshell, while I really enjoyed this movie and would give it five out of five, I must say that it's a movie that really inspires me, because it preaches hope, resilience, and the human undying capacity to overcome adversity, showing us that disabilities are not necessarily limitations and that with a determined and committed mindset and a vision to guide our path, we'll achieve incredible things regardless of the barriers on our path.
