I felt an inexplicable tinge of satisfaction after seeing this movie. A feeling I didn't expect to experience due to how I felt at the beginning of the movie. The very first scene was mind blowing but the scenes that followed were not so captivating. It got to a point where I thought that this was yet another movie with a fantastic introduction and a mediocre continuation.
Twenty minutes into the movie and I was still second-guessing my decision to see this movie. The plot was clear and the visuals were even clearer but I couldn't shrug off the “it all ends the same way” feeling, with the superhero emerging victorious and goodness prevailing over evil. However, there were some intriguing plot twists along the line.
About The Movie
The movie opens with a young man, Sergei Kravinoff, who witnesses his father brutally murder his brother. This traumatic event shapes Sergei’s outlook at life and sets him on a path of violence and revenge.
Moving forward, we see Sergei as a skilled and brutal hunter. He is driven by the desire to prove himself the greatest hunter in the world and by so doing, gain his father's respect. As Sergei dives deeper into the world of high-stakes hunting, he attracts the attention of a wealthy and influential figure who makes it his life’s purpose to end Sergei. Could this be a coincidence or a properly planned out chain of events?
This action adventure superhero film released on the 20th of December, 2024, spans for 126 minutes and is directed by J. C Chandor. The film stars veteran actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose and Fred Hechinger.

My Opinion.
This movie was a breathe of fresh air with intense hand to hand combat sequences. I was particularly impressed with the very first scene in the movie and this scene served as the fuel that kept me running till the very end of the movie. The scenes with combat were clearly showned with no cutoffs. This made the viewing experience better as the audience could see and appreciate every little detail.
The gripping narrative was yet another apprehendable aspect of this film that kept the audience at the edge of their seat. I wouldn't say the film was suspense-packed but viewers always had something to look forward to.
A good range of themes were explored in this movie, some of which include; the complexities of father-son relationships, the blurred line between good and evil, the corrupting influence of power and ambition and the struggle for identity and self discovery. The lives of the characters captured one or more of these common and very relatable themes.
There were certain scenes in the movie that were unevenly paced with some of the scenes feeling rushed or too slow. To add to this, the tone of the movie was inconsistent. One could be watching a very intense and heated combat and all of a sudden a lighthearted science is infused for a couple of minutes. Initially, this felt like a means to calm the viewer's nerves for a bit but at some point, it became unappealing.
Additionally, the supporting characters, although very talented, were underutilized. If some of the supporting characters were brought to the limelight or at least actively involved in certain scenes, it would have created an ideal assortment of events.
The movie ended in a rather unexpected manner, leading me to believe that there is going to be a second part with the uprising of an unexpected villain, which would leave Kraven in a tight bind.
Recommendation and Rating
For an individual who isn't easily intriguing by action superhero films, I enjoyed watching Kraven the Hunter. It was a bit different from the regular superhero films and this aided the eradication of spoilers or predictions. I would give the movie “Kraven the Hunter” a solid 7.5/10 rating. It would be a good watch for fans of superhero or action films. If you fall into this category, you should check this film out.
I really don't like endings that leave the viewers hanging. But your rating has made the movie an encouraging watch.🙂

I saw this movie last year after seeing multiple photos of the movie on Facebook.
It's a good watch but the film trick was too much, especially with how Kraven was unkillable 😅
There was a point he almost died and I thought he was actually going to die but his knight in shining armor swooped in to save the day😄
Yeahh. I know that path.
That place was understandable because it was more like a spiritual thing.
But those parts he dived bullets, ran like animal, received blows from that hulk and survived.
