My teacher, the hologram - An educational story : PART 2

"Mike!"

Mike's bedroom door burst open and Jenny bounded into his room.

"Get out, man!" said Mike crossly. He hated it when his sister just came into his room whenever she felt like it. He wished his dad would also install electronic sliding doors in their house, like Jimmy's father had done. Those things were really wild and good at keeping stupid little sisters out of your room.

"I told you to get out!" Mike told Jenny again, because she was still standing in his room.

"I don't want to be in your smelly old room anyway, man!" she said and pulled up her nose. "Mom says that you must come and fetch your FCC."

Mike rolled his eyes. First Beth and now Jenny - both of them talking about something he knows nothing about. What was this FCC anyways?

Jenny came closer, looking very pleased with herself.

"You don't know what the FCC is, do you?" she asked mockingly. "Yet again you haven't tuned in to the information sessions! In fact, you probably told Buttons to ignore them!"

"Those things are stupid," said Mike, although he was starting to feel rather uncomfortable. He just hoped that Jenny was not going to tell their dad about this! Dad would probably delete the entertainment component from Buttons, and Mike could say goodbye to any movies or games.

"In any case, your FCC is here and you must go and fetch it from the lounge and set it up. You will fall behind with your schoolwork if you don't get a move on," said Jenny and left the room.

Mike watched her go. FCC? Schoolwork? What on earth were these people talking about today? Has everyone gone crazy?

Mike dragged his feet to the lounge. There was an odd looking silver ball with lots of little doors waiting for him on the table. He inspected it and found that inside the little doors, were all kinds of buttons and switches and stuff, but right in the middle was a bigger door. It looked like a projector. He picked the heavy ball up and took it back to his room.

With a big frown, Mike eventually decided that this gadget looked interesting enough to receive attention. It looked a lot like a space capsule, only smaller.

"What am I supposed to do with you?" wondered Mike aloud.
