Hello Hive Lovers...
Indonesia is a country that has many beautiful places with beautiful nature, especially Indonesia has a different climate from other countries. The world has recognized this beauty too. However, what we need right now is not just recognition, the most important thing is how we can continue that beauty for the next generation.
It is true, we should be proud of the appreciation of other countries for the beautiful nature in Indonesia, but when we talk about caring for nature, we are currently still far behind in nature conservation programs compared to other countries. How could I not, illegal logging still happens frequently, forest fires, rivers poisoned by waste, hunting without permits, are still often viral in the media. Our appreciation for nature that we have is often not as big as the appreciation shown by other countries, their concern for the preservation of their nature is very high and very clear. Sometimes we still easily throw garbage carelessly, or act camouflage by destroying natural resources on the grounds of building cities and tall buildings.
These attitudes are very contrary to the spirit of preserving nature. Okay, maybe right now we are unable to dispel that situation, but should this continue to our children? No, this can't happen again. Therefore we need a generation who cares about nature and that starts with the closest people and they are our children. So, our job now is to invite children to love the nature around them from an early age.
Teaching them from an early age is not only to love nature but to foster a caring attitude towards nature by teaching them to protect and preserve it and I think there are several things we can do, including:
First,
Let us show our children about the beauty of nature by taking them on walks to places that are closely related to nature;
Flower gardens, forests, rivers, lakes and seas are some of the places that come in direct contact with nature. Apart from finding beautiful places, they have the opportunity to get to know the variety of animals and plants that can be found in these places. By seeing directly it will be easier for you to teach them to care about nature. Besides that, to increase their knowledge, it's a good idea to provide books that contain all the information about the preservation of nature.
Second,
never hesitate to invite them to play with nature, such as throwing mud at each other, swimming, playing with sand and feeding animals. We show them that playing with nature is very fun, let us show that the animals also need human affection.
Third,
Teach them that trash is the real enemy of natural beauty. Let them eat chocolate, but the chocolate wrappers should be thrown away in the space provided, introduce them to plastics that are not biodegradable by nature. Here we, apart from teaching how to live cleanly and away from disease, at the same time we teach them that garbage will cause long suffering for trees and animals.
Fourth,
Invite them to get involved in activities related to nature conservation directly. this can be done such as by planting trees and flowers and watering them, releasing the young turtles to the beach and such as rescuing wild cats on the road. from these examples they will get lessons and they will remember throughout their lives about the synergy between humans as guardians of nature and nature that provides a million benefits to humans.
We need to do the things above from an early age, not just to make them happy with our beautiful story that we once felt, but they actually find a different reality now. A big question will arise in their heads, where is the natural beauty that was once told ?, where were their parents proud about the beauty of nature? In the end they will think that reality is just a story and just their bedtime.
As parents we also feel sad if it turns out that our current children only get the remnants of that natural beauty, even in the most extreme they blame us because we are unable to protect nature.
Finally......
What we do now absolutely we do for them, we do it not only to make them happy to hear our stories of nature from our explanations, but, we have provided a valuable lesson to love nature from an early age and it is felt with you. Surely this will be an unforgettable memory for them until they are grows up.
