But before starting the fun it is important that we know or remember a basic concept.
What is the Center of Gravity?
The center of gravity is the point where all the gravitational forces that are exerted on a body are found. It is the place where the sagittal, frontal and horizontal planes meet.Source
We go with what we need for the experiment:
- We need a flat cardboard figure.
- A pencil
- A rule
- A pin or needle.
- A small box

Procedures:
To discover which is the Center of Gravity of our figure, we place it on top of the box and we move it from one side little by little until we reach the point where it tilts or tends to fall and in that moment we mark a line along from the edge of the box.
Then we change the position of the figure and we do the same procedure, we move the figure until it tilts and we mark another line.
Once this is done we mark a point where the two lines converge and this would be our Gravity Center.
After this we can place a needle at this point and our figure will not fall even can rotate
What has happened?
If we leave the figure on the tip of a needle it is normal that it falls, but once we discover what is its Center of Gravity and place the needle just in this place, the figure will remain in balance and without falling, even turns over its same axis.
