Audio track missing in Premiere Pro Fix

in Education3 years ago

Originally I googled "volume channel disappeared premiere pro" to try and find the solution to the problem, but I guess that doesn't make much sense, so I changed the title.

This is a problem I came across when I was trying to edit gameplay recordings for an Elden Ring How To video. The recordings I made had two audio tracks - one track for the microphone recording (my voice) and one track for the gameplay sound recording.

After doing various cuts for the video, I discovered that the gameplay audio track has completely gone missing. I found a way to get the exact same segments from the source video back onto the timeline (by using the "match frame" function under "Sequence), however upon dragging the source video onto the timeline, it only showed one audio track instead of two.

I then realised that there was another feature called "Source patching". You have to select the right tracks when you drag a source video onto the timeline, otherwise it will only paste select tracks (e.g. if you don't select any audio tracks in the source patching column, then no audio track will be pasted).

Hope these new features help you when you are video editing in Premiere Pro :)
