Parental involvement in a children's education is an essential factor that contributes to children's progress in school. It is very sad that most parents do not pay attention to their children's academic progress, they feel it's teachers' responsibility. Parents' active participation in their children's learning can come in so many ways, the most common is assisting with their homework, going through their exercise books, attending PTA meetings, etc.
WHY PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IS IMPORTANT
Active involvement of parents in their child's education impacts greatly on the child's academic progress. Below are why it's of importance for parent to involve in their kids academic journey:
Parental involvement helps the children to stay motivated and have a positive attitude towards learning. They see the reason why education is important. When parents help their kids with homework, they invest time in teaching them and asking them questions relating to what they have learnt, how they understand the topic and what they can say about the topic. Things like this will impact such a child to focus in class and learn because he or she knows her parents will ask her to report to them what she has learnt.

Also, parental involvement in children's education helps them do well in their academics by having higher grades, doing and submitting their homework on time.
