Hello everyone, today I will write about one of the learning models, Hopefully this article can be an encouragement as well as another motivation for all of us in educating students at school, or anywhere else.

Well, the learning model that I will discuss today is the discovery learning model. I will start today's discussion by inviting all of you to understand what a discovery learning model is, how to apply this learning model, and also other points that I think are important to know.

Definition of discovery learning.

This learning model is a learning strategy that aims to direct students to find the knowledge they want.

This means that students will be directed to be able to understand independently the context of the knowledge they are studying. The discovery learning model can be said as a series that involves students to investigate the lesson being studied.

The investigation process is carried out very seriously, systematically, logically, critically so that students can find knowledge independently. With a series of things above, it is hoped that it can produce a form of change in the behavior of students who are more competent.

In discovery learning, the learning process will be student-centered, student involvement in discovering new knowledge, results, and the learning process are the main benchmarks in this learning model.

The steps for implementing the discovery learning model.

  • Stimulus
namely starting learning activities by giving a variety of questions to students, encourage students to read books. It can be the initial capital for students to start learning activities. So that it will make them understand earlier the material to be taught.

  • Identify the problem.
At this point, the teacher provides space for students to identify problems that are in accordance with the subject matter being taught.

  • Collecting data.
Furthermore, students are given the opportunity to collect data that is suitable for the purpose of proving their hypothesis.

  • Processing data.
The data that has been collected will then be processed by students.

  • Proving the truth of the data and hypotheses.
This is done by conducting a careful and good examination so that the data that has been processed and the existing hypotheses are proven correct

  • Drawing conclusions or generalizations
take a conclusion that can be used as a general principle for all events or problems by paying attention to the results of the verification.
