One of the best experiences of the learners is to join a camporal, an activity that makes a home away from home. They have to make a place to sleep, a place to eat and even make an improvised toilet. The difficulties scouts encounter make a memorable and a real-life experiences.
My dear co-Hivers, please come with me as I'll show you what it looks like when you're in a campsite.
It was a division camporal that my girls and boys scout joined.
The Difficulties Encountered in the First Day
What have you noticed in this photo? Seems like somebody is holding the moon to brighten the villagers...😆.
Actually, the camping area is good for this activity. It's a little bit creepy considering that it's still very dark and feels like you are in a wild. The installation for electricity is ongoing while the hour is already dark. For the Boy Scout area, the space is very narrow- one side is along the steep hill while the other side is near the edge of the other- a little bit- deeper area.
In fact, during the mounting of the tent, they saw snakes passing by the area. And I instructed the scout leaders and boys to crash some garlics and place them along the edge where they possibly pass through to drive snakes away. They followed my instruction and the snakes never came back again.
It's very dark here. But the work is ongoing despite darkness.
The Electrical Support
So here, you can see the faces of the boy scout leaders in a short meeting with me because I personally installed some led bulbs and convenience outlet for their use. It was in the following day late in the afternoon.
The Girl Scouts Area
Let's visit the area for the girls.
You can also see that there's a parachute in the photo. It's intended for the district dining area but the work is still ongoing.
Here, it's quite spacious unlike the boys' area. It's a little bit cooler considering that- aside from being spacious, our area is very close to the trees. That's why, the scouters are not stressed and a little bit comfortable.
The Campfire and Other Activities
The Girls' Campfire
During the campfire, the scouts rendered different presentations in a form of songs, yells and short dramas depicting their own experiences in school and during the camping. They enjoyed a lot in these activities.
Cooking their own food
The boy's campfire
The boys excitedly prepared and presented their songs, yells and stunts during the campfire. It's really a memorable experience for them. But, on Saturday afternoon, they seemed exhausted due to the intense heat of the sun, they're finally bound to go home.
Home Sweet Home
They went back to their respective homes happy and safe.
The Realization
We have to let the children experience something to let them know what it feels like when they're away from their parents. They have to do things by their own for survival in some aspects. The important thing is, in their absence, the teachers took their role for the meantime.
That's all for for today, my dear friends and fellow Hivers.
This is @natsve54 leaving you this thoughts: An undertaking may be challenging, but it can successfully be done when it is engaging.
Wow! What a great experience!✨
Thank you mam @agnola.
Camping is one of the best experience during elementary and high school. It will teach learners life-long lessons and real-life skills they can use until they grow old. It is also fun to meet new people and gain new friends. Camping games are made fun when made outdoors. Thank you so much for sharing such a fun and memorable camping experience @natsve54 ☺︎♡
Yes mam @heyitsjian. It's really a great and memorable experience for the learners. Thank you mam.
Congrats sr for the successful BSP encampment. This activity is a training ground for students to be responsible citizens someday.
Yes mam. Thank you.
I really missed an event like this. It's really exciting especially during the obstacles.Scouting is really fun🙂Thanks Sir @natsve54 for sharing❤️
Yes mam @lovinglymers. It's really exciting. Thank you mam.
You are welcome Sir @natsve54 🙂
This reminded me of camping during my elementary days. An environment that can stimulate children to explore and learn survival skills, especially without their parents can really help in their cognitive and emotional development.
Yes mam. This is one way of teaching them to be responsible for their own. And, another important thing is the decision-making. They have to decide for themselves as needed.
Good luck sa iyong journey
