I often say to people that, "It is one thing to have knowledge and another thing to put that knowledge into action". As humans, we definitely know what is in our own best interests and I must tell you this, that's just the easy part. For example, if you decide to exercise regularly and you have a very good balance diet, you will be very healthy right? Well, that's knowledge, you have the knowledge of what to do and how to go about it, but then, that knowledge is not of much use unless it is accompanied with enough wisdom, commitment, action, and you taking responsibility for your actions. I know you will be familiar with the saying Knowledge Is Power, but if you don't put your knowledge into action, you wouldn't be able to harness it's potentials. The best place for you to start putting your knowledge to work or to action is first, with yourself. For you to let others see your full potential you must first know about yourself and then use what you know about yourself. So today, I will be sharing some points to help you better put your knowledge into action.

Carefully Examine How You Think

Having knowledge can be a very useful tool, but how you put it into action can be determined by how we decide to apply it. For knowledge to serve you well, you should be able to see it from different angles and also be able to consider it in relation to the situation in which it exist. Understand that, knowledge can sometimes hold you back by limiting how you feel about something and even your common sense. Once the human brain is highly developed, this can cloud one's judgement and even try to rationalize your behaviour with results that are quite damaging. If you are the type that always think you know it all, then it will be difficult for you to allow yourself gain more knowledge, and also if you are the type that think you know nothing at all, and because of that you are not willing to learn, then you stand a chance of not gaining anything at all. Once you examine how you think and how you process things, you will be able to put your knowledge to great use. When it's time to learn something new, humble yourself and learn it, afterwards make yourself available to teach others what you have learnt also. You gain more knowledge when you give out Knowledge. Try to examine how you think, this will help you better put your knowledge to action.

Value Yourself More

Every single person know what's best for them and you are not an exception. The question I will throw at you now is, "How much do you even value yourself?" When you get to that point where your actions become okay with what you know is good for you, then you have get to that point where you actually value yourself. Most times, you would be out of balance due to your daily activities, but then, your self worth is what will bring you back on track, but this can only happen when you set it free. Most of the times, those old negative feelings of you not being worthy enough, prevents you from giving yourself the care you deserve and also it prevents you from investing in your own well-being. But I tell you this, if you value yourself enough, you will be able to break free from such beliefs, once you are able to do this, then and only then you will be able to make better choices. Also, this will enable you to act based on knowledge instead of you acting based on myths.

Say No To Procrastination

So many forces drive procrastination in us as humans, one of the major one is fear of the unknown. That fear of us choosing to do something or that fear of choosing a particular option over another, and then the what if..? question begin to cloud our mind. Another thing that contribute, is the need to control, especially trying so hard to control the out come of the future and also the emotions and actions of other people. When you try to delay decision making based on your inability to predict the outcome of the future is about as irrational as it gets. But we should always remember that humans are not rational. Also, there is fear of regret. That fear of us not wanting to blame ourselves. We tell ourselves, if this thing go wrong, I will feel sad or terrible inside and in the end I will blame myself. What's wrong if you blame yourself? Why don't you try it out first and fail then you can learn from it instead of getting scared of you blaming yourself in the end? Thoughts like this make you have high expectations towards everything, and when you have high expectations you begin to fear not being disappointed in the end, because you don't want to be disappointed so people don't judge you, and when it eventually happens and you begin to have people judging you, you end up judging yourself too. But then, there is also a solution to this, how best can you solve the problem of procrastination? Just ask yourself this question, "What Is The Worst Thing That Can Happen?" Let every part of your being feel that question and go ahead to do something instead of procrastinating all the time.

Learn To Trust Yourself More

Many people always dwell on some of those things they did in the past that didn't work out well. Now, if you are one of those persons, how about you take a pen and a paper or even use your notepad in your device and start writing the ones you did in the past that work out for you, the moment you start writing, you would notice how long your list is looking already. What am I trying to say here, you need to accept that due to the fact that you can't take full control of some situations or outcomes, sometimes some things don't work out exactly the way we plan them. But then, if you take your time to reflect on your past actions based on your knowledge, you definitely will be surprised by how successful you've been over the years, that achievement should leave a smile on your face and you should stay proud of yourself. So, instead of dwelling on things that didn't work out, look at yourself in the mirror, recognise all of your past accomplishments in yourself and your ability to turn your knowledge into action.

In conclusion though, once you have full awareness of your knowledge, whether you got that knowledge from a formal training, your work, or even as life experience, you are in a better position to use that knowledge in context. What you know can be used for weighing up the probability of outcomes not only for absolute decision making and action. Once you are confidence of this awareness, it becomes easy for you to put knowledge into action, and in the end, you will realise it is empowering, rewarding and enjoyable. Put your knowledge to action today.
