Share an intentional health-related behavior change that you have made in the past (it is ok if it wasn’t maintained long term). Did your personal experience relate to any of the ideas or theories in the readings or videos this week? Explain the idea or theory briefly along with your experience related to the idea or theory, and be sure to identify which reading your idea/theory came from. Do you feel that knowing any of these past ideas or theories would help you get through the behavior change? If so, please share your thoughts on that as well.

End your discussion post with one well-thought-out question related to health psychology from which your colleagues can formulate a response or generate further discussion.

Your Discussion should be at least 150 words in length but not more than 300 words. When you use an informational source, such as the textbook, be sure to share the link to the source you used.

When, I gave up smoking a plant, I did not find it difficult as I had taken a photo of the results of an X-ray which showed a fist sized hole in my lung caused by it, so I posted 4 copies on the backside of the door (Jane Ogden, p 30). I for the most part just looked at this photo whenever I felt the cravings, and for the most part it put me off, but it was difficult as everyone I know also smokes it and I had to be a rock to lose the cravings all together. Being laid up in a bed in isolation with I.V.'s and tubes and multiple shots including D.V.T.'s daily for nearly 4 weeks is a big motivator to change your behavior for whatever reason.

Apart from the pain of all the procedures that I had to under go to find out why I was so ill, could there have been an easier way to motivate a life long smoker of a plant to stop?
