Thanks for this post. Really interesting. I've been watching a YouTube channel recently from a Canadian fellow who does a lot of camping, especially stealth camping, where he finds locales that would be considered high risk in terms of camping, and then tries to camp there without being noticed. It's fascinating!

My question, however, is - why is there such a large French speaking population in Canada? My assumption is that it's something to do with a time where Canada might have been occupied by the French and it is just relic of that time. Or was Canada originally a French speaking nation and other influences developed English?

My Canadian history is not the greatest. Here goes. Canada was colonized by the British as well as French settlers. French Canadians are second behind English speaking Canadians.
