It's another beautiful spring day. Mouse was admiring all the magical blossoms the garden had to offer. The air smelled sweet and fresh. Mouse loved spring. It's his favourite season. Mouse noticed Betsie dove fluttering up and down the old oak tree. She looked upset. He greeted her. She saw Mouse waving at her and she landed on the ground next to him.

Concerned he asked her if she was okay. Sadly she told Mouse no, she wasn't, she lost her home and she needed to find a new one. But it's difficult and she has not had any luck so far. Mouse offered to help her look for her next home. Mouse suggested they start at the new farm house. Betsie agreed and they headed there right away.

Betsie loved the look of the farm house, with its prominent long triangular roof. She found the perfect spot right away, hidden beneath the roof. Just then they both heard the people inside fighting. “This will not do” Betsie told mouse. We doves love a peaceful environment. Mouse understood, thinking again. He suggested. They try the huge old tree near the lake.

Betsie loved the next idea as well. When they reached the tree, Betsie inspected the tree. While she was busy looking around, she noticed the sticky tree sap leaking from the tree and branches, causing sticky raindrops that fell to the ground. “This will not work at all” she told Mouse. “The tree sap is to sticky for my liking.” She was already sticky. Betsie took a quick bath on the river shore in a shallow pool, to rinse off all the sticky tree sap.
Mouse assured her it's okay. They will keep looking. Thinking again, Mouse suggested this time to try the old abandoned barn where they stored coal. It was quiet with no noise.

At the old barn she saw it was nice and quiet. She liked it. Betsie flew in and looked around. After she finished looking, she landed next to mouse. Mouse saw Betsie's snow white feathers were soiled with coal dust. Betsie didn't like this idea any more. Betsie was losing hope of finding a new home.

Mouse took a rest under the tree, while waiting for Betsie to clean herself again. Mouse thought hard and long. There's always an answer to every problem, he reminded himself. Then it struck hum. The children, where he lived. They built a few bird houses for the garden. They are up and waiting to be lived in. When Betsie returned, Mouse told her about the bird houses. Betsie decided to go have a look at them, who knows maybe she will love it.
At the bird houses in the garden. Betsie looked around.

The garden looked beautiful with trimmed grass and colourful birdhouses standing on poles. She saw the white bird house with the red roof. She took a closer look at the house. Even going into the house. It was all she needed, clean and quiet, cozy and warm. It was a safe home. She invited Mouse to come up. Mouse did. He saw a very happy Betsie. Mouse shared in her happiness.

That night in bed Mouse thought of the day, how happy Betsie is with her new home. Today Mouse learned there's always an answer to a problem.
