En mi hogar, cuando comenzó la pandemia comenzamos con unas pequeñas tareas dirigidas para ayudar a aquellos niños que tenían tareas, las cuales eran mandadas por sus maestras del colegio vía online debido a que no podían ir a clases presenciales. Al principio fue retador trabajar con niños, buscar las maneras de poder transmitir mis conocimientos y que fuese entendible para ellos, tener la paciencia y calma para poder tratar con sus personalidades y sobre todo, sentir que estaba haciendo bien mi trabajo.
A medida que el tiempo fue pasando más niños se fueron sumando a esta actividad, recuerdo que hubo un tiempo en el que teníamos dos turnos porque la cantidad de niños que debíamos atender era muy grande, y como he expresado en post anteriores solo éramos mi mamá y y contra el mundo 🤣.
Pensábamos que solo iba a ser un pasatiempo de cuarentena, pero cuando se retomaron las clases presenciales los padres de los niños no nos querían dejar ir, así que tuvimos que programarnos para seguir siendo maestras en casa.
Es gratificante ver como el esfuerzo, dedicación y constancia dan frutos; no solo por parte de nosotros que nos encargamos de enseñar, sino también de los niños que, aunque muchas veces quieren jugar y compartir con sus amigos, dan lo mejor de sí para aprender y ser mejores cada día en el ámbito académico.
Es emocionante ver como un niño aprende a tomar correctamente un lápiz, colorear dentro de la líneas y en una sola dirección, reconocer y diferenciar las vocales y consonantes, aprender a leer, escribir y perfeccionar estas habilidades. Personalmente es reconfortante saber que fuiste parte del proceso, y no solo eso, sino que lo hiciste bien y tu método de enseñanza fue el indicado para el niño.
Ya han ido y venido varios niños a los que guardo en mi corazón y aun recuerdo con mucho cariño. Cuatro años llevando a cabo esta labor se dicen fácil, pero la verdad en ese tiempo he aprendido tantas cosas que me hacen ser la maestra que soy hoy en día (título honorario dado a mi por los niños). Le doy gracias a sus padres por darme la oportunidad de ser parte de su proceso de aprendizaje, porque al igual que ellos, me siento orgullosa cuando llegan con buenas notas y me cuentan toda una historia de como les fue en su evaluación antes de mostrarme el resultado final.
Espero poder seguir siendo la maestra, compartir lo que sé y seguir aprendiendo cada día de ellos.

A greeting and a big hug to all the members of this community and to all those who come across this post. Today, February 14th, Teacher's Day is celebrated in various parts of the world, honoring the arduous work carried out by these special individuals. They are the only professionals specialized in shaping more professionals.
In my home, when the pandemic began, we started with small home school to help those children who had assignments sent by their school teachers online because they couldn't attend in-person classes. At first, it was challenging to work with children, to find ways to transmit my knowledge in an understandable manner, to have the patience and calmness to deal with their personalities, and above all, to feel that I was doing my job well.
As time passed, more children joined this activity. I remember there was a time when we had two shifts because the number of children we had to attend to was very large. As I have expressed in previous posts, it was just my mom and me against the world 🤣.
We thought it was just going to be a quarantine pastime, but when in-person classes resumed, the parents of the children didn't want to leave us, so we had to schedule ourselves to continue being teachers at home.
It is gratifying to see how effort, dedication, and perseverance bear fruit; not only on our part as educators, but also from the children who, although they often want to play and socialize with their friends, give their best to learn and improve academically every day.
It is exciting to see how a child learns to hold a pencil correctly, color within the lines and in a single direction, recognize and differentiate vowels and consonants, learn to read, write, and refine these skills. Personally, it is comforting to know that you were part of the process, and not only that, but that you did it well and your teaching method was the right one for the child.
Several children have come and gone whom I hold dear in my heart and still remember fondly. Four years of carrying out this work may sound easy, but the truth is that during this time, I have learned so many things that have made me the teacher I am today (an honorary title given to me by the children). I thank their parents for giving me the opportunity to be part of their learning process because, like them, I feel proud when they come with good grades and tell me a whole story of how they did in their evaluation before showing me the final result.
I hope to continue being a teacher, sharing what I know, and continuing to learn from them every day.
