I'm sad to hear that things are going so crumby with getting your mom settled in, and that her health issues have continued on. I know your hopes for her moving north were high... It's good at least that you are right there with her, and can avoid Florida's stupid hospital systems.
It's also stellar that you are deciding to make efforts to focus on the things you can that make you happy. Good fiction and getting some words on the page are wonderful medicines. I subscribed to your community and will try to write a story in there today, I haven't written a fiction story since... heh.
I loved the pictures by the way- both the ones you drew and the one of you and Alex! How old was he there? He looks maybe in high school?
