The flag you notice appears automatically on anything I write. It is @sunsetjesus
I will say that the past two posts he did remove his flag after the post had been there for awhile. The same could happen here.
It is even possible that when I write this reply it too will automatically be flagged by him. We shall see.
I focus on my family and making sure we can survive to the best of my ability. After that I focus on my community.
I don't see me or my family being particularly good at contributing to any community if we are not taking care of ourselves.
As far as making sure we can survive. I am not referring to any kind of luxury. Shelter, but nothing extravagant. Keeping the shelter functional. Food. Energy. Protection. Limited transportation as needed.
We will get other things as well but the above are the primary things I make sure to focus on. Anything else is just a bonus.
I despise the concept of Communism or Socialism. I DO understand why they are popular from an emotional perspective. They are EASY. They do not scale well at all and they completely cannot properly predict or respond to the vast needs that are out there.
Plus, I'm not a big fan of some central planner(s) getting to decide what my needs are and what their needs are.
That never works out well.
I am also a huge proponent of decentralization like you. Communism and socialism tend to lead to massive centralization.
Yes, all institutions do, and none more readily. I deliberately avoid any kind of accounting whatsoever, but seek only to create goodwill with good people that I can depend on when I am in need - and this is definitely not every Tom, Dick, and Harry, that every formal institution must account. I find most people to be limited in their capacity to bear goodwill, and this moderates my expectations of them. It is the indolent and avaricious I avoid, and thus my community isn't just everyone in the region, which may be what differentiates what I do from Communism or Socialism. It is certainly not universally applicable as those formal institutional mechanisms claim is necessary. My sovereign authority to apply myself at my sole option per my understanding is fundamental to such success as I have attained.
I know you to be highly principled, and I know that house and home are fundamental responsibilities you are determined to fulfill. I hope only to testify that goodwill can be a boon and not a detriment, when applied with wisdom. I am not particularly wise, and make many mistakes fumbling my way along, but I have apparently accrued enough goodwill with enough good people to survive to date by this means.
It could all fall apart tomorrow and I could again learn what a fool I am. Today it appears to me to be a wise approach. You have no lack of wisdom I can suggest to you, and I am confident you are the right man for the responsibilities you bear, and that I have no business seeking to influence you regarding, nor mean to.
