How many times have you already heard that we should start eating insects flour to save our Climate Earth?
World Climate Declaration from 27th June 2022 has been signed from more than 1200 researchers, led by the Nobel Prize for physics Professor Ivar, saying that no climate emergency from industrialization is happening. We are just passing through some cold and hot phases.
CO2 level increases are correct and they cannot be underestimated but for the moment we can observe that vegetables production has been increased by 23% thanks to a higher concentration of volatile carbon to be fixed into organic carbon chains (wood, fibers and so on).
So, are we facing a fight against climate change or are we facing a war against healthy foods for healthy people?
On one side we cannot underestimate the impact of CO2 on our life and the eutrophication of lakes and seas, but yes, CO2 limitation is one thing. Climate change is another. They are related but they can be managed in different forms.
Articles about insects based food go back to 2020, where 500 tonnes of insect based food were already produced. Have these years been a sort of open-air laboratory test somewhere in the world?
I truly think so.
And insects flour has become regularly possible since a couple of weeks in European Union thanks to a new law that allow the integration of insect flour to food where cereal flour is already present.
What about vegetarians and vegans? They will be forced to look for it in any cereal-derived food they will be eating.
At the moment there is a lack of studies for the health impact of insects on humans. Anyway, some of them (Article 1, Article 2) are already clearly stating that they can potentially accumulate chemicals and heavy metals and even producing some substances interfering with human metabolism.
So, we actually moved from here

To here:
Yes, there is some sarcasm here, but that’s how they try to fool us.
How are they going to try to persuade you that insects are important for climate?
Saying that intensive breeding create a lot of CO2 and methane, they destroy a lot of potential forest areas and so on.

Unfortunately, they forget to mention that 17% of the Food is wasted (UNEX Food Waste Report 2021). Disposed. Thrown away. And more than 700 millions of people are starving. Are you already guessing who has been testing the insect based food in these years?
Reducing waste of foods and educating people to a healthier diet are the two solutions that MUST be addressed from conscious people.
How much meat does our body really need to eat? Not as much as you think
How much can we replace supplements with a vegetarian diet with no meat and little or no fish?
In full, keeping attention on what we eat, on discovering new foods and paying attention to the source of the vegetables/fruit/legumes/cereals that we are buying. If they are from intensive growth they will be much poor and they will not be sufficient for the body. But if you start looking for seasonal and local vegetables, organic when possible you will have much more supplements available!
So, are we sure that all this insect stuff is really meant for our health and the climate change?
@diggndeeper.com @deepdives and @v4vapid I would love to get your feedback on this matter
There's no good reason to ever eat bugs. Growing bugs with food waste might be a good idea to then use as livestock food though.
This is what I think. Even if, growing insects to give them then for livestock food is like recycling wastes into food and I am not sure that is the best path. I think that insects can have other applications but I will eventually write an article on such topic

This whole thing is sad, if they wanted to make flour out of insects, they should at least make logical argument and give options, and what you raised about the food waste is true too:
I've seen people, in my own country throwing food away! Edible food. Even our family doesn't save all our food from being wasted, but we try to feed animals what we don't eat. This 17% looks too low to me, which is a good thing if these were accurate stats.

these are some data I found in one of my recent researches to demonstrate how the BTC network is not so polluting if compared to wastes and other energy consumptions (like conditioned air).
And yes, in my house, we are close to 0% of food wasted because we use a very thorough check of what we have and what we should eat first.
Thanks for the points! Much appreciated
I already knew that. I think most people know, it's just...
If your neighbor had access to government-issued electricity, but he opted to not use it, and use a more expensive power generator that wastes a lot of gas. He'll have more energy for fractions of the cost if he just used the electricity the government gave him, but he hates the government just that much.
Now imagine if that same generator's noise reached your house and sometimes it gets you uncomfortable. You can live with that, but it just feels so unnecessary because you know how many resources it wastes and you think the government-issued electricity is totally fine.
See?
That's how Bitcoin feels to the people who don't see the value of it over Fiat, the cost-to-benefit proposition isn't logical to them at all.

great topic. I think that from now on I too will start thinking about eating differently, and I really think I will start eating less meat. !LUV
We do not eat so much meat in our diet. Especially, we do not need the meat we buy from store and big shops since it's a non-natural meat.
Anyway, my focus was on insect flour, that is not yet been widely tested for human health AND they make people believe it's meat fault. Well, we would be all healthier eating less meat but moving towards insects is not a good choice. They are fooling people
As for an insect-based diet, I'm not ready yet

Excellent post and I really don't like the nasty bug or insect bread and I definitely will not support it.
Thank you very much for sharing and have an amazing day.
Absolutely agree! Insects flours it's another deceptive move to make another Kansas City Move on our health. I am not trusting anymore the information as they are shared and I am always trying to go deeper.
They are trying to delete freedom of thoughts but I am building my own resistance!
