The Tragic Case of Skylar Neese. On the night of July 6, 2012, a 16 year old girl named Skylar Neese disappeared from her home in the city of Star City, West Virginia State, United States.
The mystery of the girl's disappearance is the initial chapter of the terrible tragedy that befell the small town, especially after her body is found and the killer is actually the girl's best friend.
In fact, the reason for this crime that gives goosebumps is very trivial and absurd. This case seems to be a reminder that it is possible for your closest friend to stab you in the back.
THIS IS A SKYLAR NEESE TRAGIC STORY
Skylar Neese was born in 1996 and like any other teenager, he enjoys life by traveling to the mall with girls his age, playing social media on his cell phone, and also spending free time watching serial dramas on television.
However, on July 6, 2012, this 16 year old young girl ended tragically. The day actually started out very ordinary and without any inkling. After school, Skylar used to work part time at the fast food restaurant, Wendy's. After returning from that part-time job, Skylar was seen by her parents entering her room to rest.
But you can imagine how shocked Skylar's parents were when they found out that their daughter's room was empty the next day. The bedroom window was wide open. Obviously, that girl had disappeared since last night. But what happened? Did anyone kidnap the girl? Other evidence emerged. CCTV cameras caught the girl leaving her house at 12:30 midnight, then getting into another car.
Not surprisingly, Skylar's parents also considered their son to go alone. But what is the reason for running away from home? Oddly, Skylar doesn't carry a cell phone charger.
This was proof that even if Skylar herself escaped by climbing out the window, she planned not to leave for long and would eventually return to her home. But who did Skylar go with and where is she now?
In the absence of clarity, the police then rated Skylar as an unstable high school student who generally ran away from home. Adolescence is usually marked by turmoil in finding his identity.
But Skylar's parents disagreed. They continue to reject the notion that their daughter has run away on purpose, especially since their family has never been hit by serious problems that could have made Skylar leave without a message.
Skylar's parents then tried to find their daughter, no matter what. The two then distributed posters of missing persons. Fortunately, Skylar's closest friends helped them. One of them is Skylar's two closest friends, Sheila Eddy and Rachel Shoaf.
But over time, cases of Skylar Neese's disappearance began to emerge, as the carcass is best kept, it will inevitably smell too.
Remember the CCTV footage where Skylar was seen sneaking out of her bedroom window and into the car? It turns out that this car belongs to Sheila, Skylar's best friend. But when the police followed up on this tip and interrogated Sheila, she only replied that she had a playing with Skylar that night, but she drove her home and dropped her off near her house. It was the last time, according to her testimony, that she saw her friend.
However, the police suspicions did not stop there. Sheila's suspicious behavior prompts the police to start interrogating Skylar's closest friends. Not only that, the FBI has begun to intervene in the investigation, considering that the case of the disappearance of an underage girl is quite unsettling.
Finally, a breakthrough in the investigative process comes when Rachel, another of Skylar's friends, suddenly admits that she was the one who killed Skylar. Not only that, their other best friend, Sheila, also helped her.
In March 2013 Skylar's body was finally found in the state of Pennsylvania, about 30 kilometers from her home, closing the latest round of cases of the girl's disappearance.
This admission certainly astonished Skylar's parents, because as I said earlier, Sheila and Rachel were their daughter's closest friends, and even had time to help find Skylar when she disappeared. But what really happened that night?
At 12:30 midnight, as seen on CCTV, Skylar sneaks out and runs into two girls in her car. The three of them then drive to the Pennsylvania state border and there, in a remote location in the middle of nowhere, the three of them plan to smoke marijuana rolls.
At that time Skylar did not realize that she was in a trap. In fact, Skylar and Rachel had been planning the murder for months. That night in the car, they carried various items in preparation for the execution of their cruel act, including kitchen knives, tissues, bleach, cloths, and shovels for burying corpses.
On the night of the execution, the perpetrators later told Skylar that they had forgotten to bring matches. Skylar also took the initiative to take her from her car. But as soon as Skylar turned to get back into her car, the two girls immediately counted from one to three. Then stabbed Skylar mercilessly.
Skylar tried to run away, but it was useless. Rachel then knocked Skylar to the ground and stabbed her again. On one occasion, Skylar managed to grab Rachel's knife from her hand and injure her knee. But her partner, Sheila, kept stabbing Skylar until she finally didn't move, losing her life. More than 50 stab wounds were recorded on Skylar's body.
After that, Rachel and Sheila originally intended to bury Skylar's body to hide their tracks. But unfortunately, the soil conditions in that location are very difficult, making it difficult to excavate. And than They simply covered Skylar's body with rocks, tree branches and dirt.
Rachel and Sheila then returned to their house, took a shower, and even had time to throw away their bloodied clothes to remove all evidence. Then, without feeling guilty, the two girls return to their normal lives, pretending they don't know anything, even helping to find Skylar, the girl they just killed.
In May 2013, Rachel was finally found guilty and sentenced to 30 years in prison. Meanwhile, Sheila received a harsher sentence, namely a life sentence. Rachel's sentence is much lighter because she remembers that she herself first surrendered to the authorities and exposed her own crimes, so that the case for Skylar's death was finally solved.
The story of Skylar Neese is trending and is getting wide coverage in the United States. The private television station NBC aired a documentary titled: Something Wicked, Lifetime also released a drama called: Death Clique, ABC released: Unfriended, and LMN released: I Killed My BFF, all of which covered the tragic story of Skylar being killed by her own friend.
Channel Discovery has even released a documentary about Skylar twice entitled: See No Evil, and A Daughter Disappears, which according to the title certainly sees more of the Skylar family's sadness.
US psychologist Phil also highlighted Skylar's story in an episode titled Best Friend's Betrayal. Even in this episode, Skylar's parents were also present at the studio and admitted that they didn't stop thinking about Rachel's actions. Because for them, Rachel is like their own child because of the closeness of the relationship between the girl and her daughter.
But we must be wondering, what is the reason Rachel and Sheila, two girls who are still the same age as Skylar, aka 16 years have the heart to commit this heinous act? What prompted the two young girls to kill their own best friend? What were Skylar's real mistakes and sins?
Surprisingly, when the police and the FBI asked the same question, Rachel's answer was simple: we didn't like her. It is ridiculous how such a simple excuse can be used to justify their immorality.
In fact, the tension between the three friends was seen in a tweet from Skylar's twitter account before she was killed.
On July 4, 2012, just two days before her death, she cursed and teased her as a form of disappointment with her two friends. On the day before his tragic death, she again tweeted her distrust of her two friends. Her final tweet, sent two hours before she snuck out at midnight, reads only: All I can do is hope. Signifies its submission.
But surprisingly, the tweets from the killer's Twitter account, namely Sheila and Rachel, show absolutely no guilt.
Even when Skylar's body was found, Sheila, who received the harshest punishment of both of them, still managed to tweet: Rest in peace, Skylar, you will always be my best friend, followed by her photo collage with Skylar, as if to show that she is grieving. mind. In fact, she was the one who killed his best friend.
What happened to Skylar should be a lesson for us, that it is not uncommon for those closest to us to hurt us. Yet a thousand questions remained even after the Skylar case was resolved.
Why could the two young girls do such a cruel act?
Was their friendship really shaken by the storm?
Were the two offender girls who had been brought up with such privileges that they were not accustomed to being responsible for their actions?
Or does their unstable and childish teenage brain keep them from realizing the seriousness of the crimes they are committing?
Or, as a final question, are they basically a psychopath couple with no conscience at all, let alone empathizing with each other's suffering?
What is clear, hopefully one day you will be kept away from friends like this, who wear masks like good people in front, but behind are actually evil.
