I hope you're wrong too but there's a concerted effort to end anonymity online and to monitor and track all aspects of life. It's not the sort of future most people want. I do think that the elites/uber-rich transnationals operate under a different set of rules and the total surveillance will not apply to them, just to the unwashed masses.
