I like the analogy of the drowning man, it's comical and also depressing. Too many of life's essentials are denied to human beings because there's a dollar to be made.
Thanks, it was a good read.
Thank you so much @lucylin; you honor me by spending an entire post in response to my "stupidity and lefty echo-chambers worrying" :-) Let me just say that it's reassuring for me to know you don't agree with me, for that's a sign that I'm probably right. Also, you seem burdened by jealousy, a common trait among the right-wingers who believe on one hand that Bezos has earned his billions fair and square, but on the other hand don't understand why they themselves still dwell on the bottom rung of of Maslov's pyramid. Oh wait... you didn't even use your (and @joeyarnoldvn's) standard throw-away argument, that I should act like a REAL socialist and redistribute the income of my posts ;-)
I really don't have the time to debunk all the usual nonsense in your response / post, so I'll just take the most important one:
That being the biological fact, it then rather supports the concept of capitalism being a natural functional dynamic.
Your basic understanding of human behaviors and psychology is woefully lacking (where have I read that before...). Just two things here: 1) you've clearly forgotten the hundreds of thousands of years when we lived as nomadic tribes, as there's no materially based top-down hierarchy in tribes, and 2) even if your insane assertion was true, it's also true that males naturally breed with as many females as possible, basic evolution theory there, just maximizing the chance of one's genes to make it into future generations. We've overcome that instinct, didn't we? Mankind is unique in that we have a reasoning brain and have used that to create a functional modern society, didn't we?
I could go on, but that's no use. I'll leave you with a quote from Ayn Rand, and leave it to you to figure out why she's so dreadfully wrong.
Men have been taught that their first concern is to relieve the suffering of others ... then man must wish to see others suffer - in order that he may be virtuous. Such is the nature of altruism. - Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead
Also, you seem burdened by jealousy, a common trait among the right-wingers who believe on one hand that Bezos has earned his billions fair and square,
Jelousy lives in the realms of the socialist. 'give me your stuff'. 'I'm not good enough to compete'.
I'm not a right winger.lmao.
Bezos is a result of 'socialism at the top'.
but on the other hand don't understand why they themselves still dwell on the bottom rung of of Maslov's pyramid
(p.s. Maslov pyramid is a farcically simplistic model).

Say's who?
How old are you? Do you have any real life, world experience?(serious question)
You know exactly what my answer is; you're a regular here, so you've read it a thousand times before... Okay, one more time: if you want to stay stuck in capitalism, you need to heavily control the innate negative outcomes of that system by strong government regulation. Your libertarian wish for freedom is laudable, you just don't seem capable to grasp that capitalism and true freedom don't mix. The only system that works without government, at least on paper, is communism. John Lennon gave the answer as well when he sung "Imagine no possessions"...

Thanks so much for the kind words my friend! I'm glad you liked it :-)
You are insane.
totally! lol - here's my brief rebuttal...

No.... seriously, how old are you?
What do you want if you want to buy and sell and trade and exchange?

Should I let a centralized government control what I can buy and sell?
