First auction of a blurry man across many centuries produced with AI.
The first "painting by AI sold for $432,500! Estimated to sell at an upper range of $10,000. A bidding war came about between a few that were willing to pay much more for this first of a kind AI art.
Was created by a team in France called "OBVIOUS". Resulting in a blurry European man created by man and AI to become known as a first and fetching a large sale at auction.
We would like to thank the A.I. community, especially to those who have been pioneering the use of this new technology, including Ian Goodfellow, the creator of the GAN algorithm, who inspired the name of the Famille de Belamy series, and artist Robbie Barrat. ~ Obvious
This "painting" of "Edmond" was created from 15,000 scanned photographes from between the 15th and 20th centuries, resulting in an image of blurry man "photographed" by AI after being entered by man and his images. Maybe blurred from re-creation through centuries of time.
The last few in a collection resulting from this one and others sold for about 10,000 Euros each.
