Arachnophobia

in Manipulation Station5 years ago (edited)

This is an unusual post because there are no pictures of my authorship here. There are no other people's pictures here, either. I made this post to participate in the first contest of the new Hive community — Manipulation Station. I have always liked to process and edit pictures, although my skills in powerful programs like Photoshop are about zero (on a scale of ten). For processing, I use Adobe Lightroom; for editing, I use one of the most ancient photo editors called Paint Shop Pro. I have been using this program since the early 2000s, and I still use it. It is quite enough for my tasks.

The goal of the contest was to take an ordinary photo of a goofy dog and do something unusual with it. I liked the mention of a crazy psychedelic background, so, I immediately started working in this direction. In the end, here's what I got — a picture called Arachnophobia:

Arachnophobia

Well, now I'll tell you a little about how I did it. Believe me, it didn't take much effort. :) I opened Paint Shop Pro with the original picture, and at first, I looked at the image for a while, awakening my imagination:

Then I made a black background and centered the image:

Then I remembered that this program has a wonderful tool called Picture Tube. The purpose of this tool is that you select a preset with images and place these images on your original picture. There is a huge selection of images, but I immediately noticed a preset with spiders called Arachnophobia.

For some time I experimented with other images (butterflies, beetles, flowers, etc.), but still decided on spiders.

A few more examples:

Butterflies

Holly

Autumn Leaves

Dice

As you can see, it doesn't take much effort to create such images, but the results are quite fun. For me, the option with the spiders proved to be satisfactory.

I hope you liked my crazy pictures. Don't be afraid of spiders! :)
Thank you for stopping by!
