In the village where I live, there is still the same method as in your post. But sometimes people bring the additional machine to remove rice seeds from the stem to save time :)

I've seen that too , and that would have been too convenient but unfortunately speakingbeacause of economic concern, that limits then from the resources. Those who own largest rice farms usually able to afford rice machinery and even have more people working for them. Looks like life is unfair in this surface. Thanks for checking my post @anggreklestari. Your comment give me an impression that you are from a rice-producer place too! That's good to hear . I have great respect and love for this people in having such passion and dedication. Can't imagine a world without them.
