On this world environment day, I would like to share the awareness of climate change that cause so much disasters in many places around the world. Climate change is increasingly important to all of us cause if we don't do anything right now we will not be able to live in the near future.
To show the urgency of climate change we could see that from 4,6 billion years we have release 1010 Giga Tonnes CO2 from 1850-1999, and 500 gtCO2 in 2000-2015. we have left with 2755 gtCO2 left and the annual emission is about 40 gtC02. It means that we only have 70 years to live if we dont do anything about the paris aggreement to reduce the carbon emission by 50% in 2030 and consecutively 25% in 2040 and 2050.
As a world citizen and as a person who will live to the year 2050 I am afraid to face this reality. If we talk about climate change in the society, most of them still don't understand about this problem. I don't blame others who don't know this because maybe they are facing other problem like poverty and war that we see in Ukraine. But there is no reason for us that lives a peaceful live to not think about Climate Change.
What could change this? As I read through the internet and watching youtubes, Policy and technology will give the large impactful effect to climate change. Now we have EV, Solar energy, Nuclear Powerplant that become more efficient in the past 5 years. Those technology if driven by good policy will bridge us to the place that we want. I also hope that climate change will be discussed a lot on G20 meetings and will create a good policy followed by responsible actions by the member of G20 nations.
