As a little boy, i always woke up every morning to the calmness of dawn just ushered in my the crow of an elegant cock; foggy mornings, soothing breeze and the sweet fragrance of mother nature.
After washing my face, hands and feet, i eat my breakfast (usually of leftover) and rush off to school. After school, i take my lunch and later on, hands in hands with my friends, we run off to the nearby forest, hopping from one fruit tree to the other, savoring the ripeness, sweetness and freshness of mother nature.
When the first rain comes, we always rush to claim portions of the compound where the green life starts emerging and term it our own plantation, tending it until it becomes a nation of weeds.
Most mornings, during the terminal school holidays, we dedicate the heatless portion of the morning to climbing the rocks ranging round our town and standing like giant sentries round us and on them we get to watch the vast blessed countryside.
Decades later, i woke up to the sound of not the crowing cook but heavy machines. I step out but not into the morning fog but thick and choking fumes excreted by man's inventions. During my free time, i look towards the part where my beloved forest occupies but i only see an emptiness filled with bricks, roofs and irons. When i returned to my childhood plantation to claim my portion, i find a barren land, carpeted not with green life but with tiles and gravels.
I shrugged my shoulders and resigned to go on and find solace on my sentry rocks but alas! I find men waging war on them and taking as spoils of war, chunks and bits of my sentries to grace the graveyard forest, the green child of mother nature
@assegai I loved your post, but providing source to the image is mandatory, even if it's your own work. Thank you!
its ok if its your image no need to put a source..
but in this case it was from one of

so quite correct as you say!
@ecotrain I knew that having trained in short ethical hacking course and student of mass media, I studied a little about these things. But I like to put everything mildly and in a corrective way. Thank you! I always say this image is from my album or camera if I use my own images.
