Hi Hiveans,
Hello and welcome to my page. I am @blesy. This is my entry to the question of the week challenge. Kindly follow me as i share my view on the topic which states that "What do we fear, why do we fear?".
It is always in our culture to fear as human. Fear is being triggered by certain neurotransmitters in our brain cells which triggers the release of chemicals given rise to fear and anxiety. Fear can be so limiting and makes one feel less important to handle a given task when in true sense it's not so. Because when you decide to be bold at times, you get what you deserve.
WHAT DO WE FEAR?
Below are the likely things we generally fear
Height: When you climb a very tall storey building or tree there's always this fear that if the stairs decide to crack or weakens how will someone survive. Climbing a tree or mountain to the peak and discovering you can no long come down freely will definitely result to been afraid. This is the fear of height.
Fire: Human being is generally afraid of fire. No one will light a cooking gas and decide to burn his/her hands with the fire as that will be most dangerous. We all fear fire except in a condition whereby some people are using charm or supernatural power.
Accident: It is often said that no body wants to die but everybody wants to go to heaven. Some accident may result to mild injury while some others may be fatal resulting to the lost of lives or properties. Accident shouldn't necessarily be by car, some may experience it at home, bathroom on tiles etc. In which ever way, accident is unideal and should be prevented at all cost.
Rejection: This aspect is common with either gender when one develops interest towards the other and scared of relating their feelings for fear of rejection. No man will like to take No for an answer from someone he loves dearly. Though this is always bound to happen one way or the other.
War: We all fear wars or battles. The use of nuclear and chemical weapon places fear in the heart of humanity. No one prays for war. Despite how soldiers might be, there's a level of war they don't want to see or experience. So we fear war as well.
Guns: How do you feel when someone points a gun at you? The answer will definitely be "afraid." When some is faced with a gun (having loaded with bullet or no bullet) such person's heart will definitely be in his mouth (unless you're aware the gun have no bullet.
Swimming in Lake: Though many can swim offshore but no one can swim at the middle of a lake with being afraid. The movement of the body to and fro makes some to be scared not to talk of swimming in an ocean. One that may only do this successfully are swimming specialists. So never try something you're not used to because this can be much dangerous to your well-being.
Things feared specifically
This form of fear is not generally applicable to everyone. Some are applicable to many introverts. This include;
- Public speaking
- Meeting New friends (Some introverts)
- Handling Executive positions
- Fear of the unknown etc
WHY DO WE FEAR?
Below are possible reasons why we fear
- Lack of strength or motivation to carry out a given task
- Low self-esteem
- To avoid unwanted troubles or conflicts
- Instinctive Phobias
- To secure our life and properties
From my expressions above you'll notice that fear can both be of advantage and disadvantages to humanity. You're alive today because the fear of getting your self into problem preserves you from such a problem. Meanwhile fear can be stagnating as well. In what ever way, take decision wisely and confront your fears with outright boldness but be wise enough to know what you're facing. Wisdom protects you.
Hope I've been able to share my thought on "what we do fear and why we do fear?" This is my entry to #QOTW Challenge an initiative brought forward by @ecotrain.
