Have you ever had one of those days when even nature is putting obstacles in your way?
yesterday's post for more information about that.We haven't been to town in a few days, @ecoinstante is doing her master's program, and I was mostly 'working from home' - you can check
But today was the day, and I mixed some gas and fired up the chainsaw even before we left the property, my neighbors were telling me about a fallen tree for several days already.
I couldn't tell what caused it, maybe old age or some sort of rot, but it looks like it pruned a whole lot of other trees on the way down.
I couldn't even see the end of it from where I was, but I had my pants on and fired up the small engine.
I made four cuts, and tossed the logs to the side of the road. The road was clear!
I packed up the tool into its carboard box, I'm going to need a plastic case or a tool bag before too long - and started walking back to the car. I wasn't able to drive to the job since the neighbor had snuck his suzuki under the downed tree and was blocking my way.
But by then they had finished their unloading and were probably happy to see the blockage cleared. We drove into town as well - after waiting for even more traffic.
That last piece of path was too slippery to drive up, its where we stopped fixing the road this summer and where we hope to continue as soon as possible.
I don't even try if its been raining, but I can't get mad that they want to try, I'll just wait.
After a bit of patience, we made it into town, 'Ciudad de Torres Blancas (y mujeres bellas).
As I waited for my lovely wife to make some purchases, I thought - This is exactly why I bought a piece of farm right off the main road.
We were headed down to our @ecobanker project, and while there are challenges to being on the main road, they are nothing like the challenges to being 'off the beaten path'.
There is more to report on our land project, and I'm headed back there today and likely several days this week,so stay tuned for that!
That's awesome, a reminder to always keep a SHARPENED chainsaw with you at all times!
