My Birds Won! Now they need to take just One more Flight...

I enjoyed the 55-23 win (and the huge run-up in the score) that the Eagles completed over the very entertaining Washington Commanders on Sunday. We now advance to face the sizzling-hot-and-on-the-tree-peat-hunt Kansas City Chiefs for the grand title of Super Bowl champion.

I'm hopeful that we won't need some of those points in our upcoming victory against KC you know, where we deny them that elusive 3rd win in a row, but whatever happens, it's sure to be one heck of a game.

(Look at me talking about an "upcoming victory" lol!)

Sunday's game capped off an amazing weekend where everything just seemed to go my way. I'm creating content on a regular basis on Hive and having fun doing so.

I barely even notice the upvote totals and just focus on becoming a better blogger and a steady content creator. I've even found time to extend my reach and share thoughtful comments on the blogs of others, which is what helps to glue us all together as a thriving community.

I look forward to the new month with a cup that runneth over with enthusiasm and a smile on my face.

Open yourself Up to the Good Things

That old saying "every day above ground is a good one" couldn't be truer, and I love it when things just fall into place.

I watched a YouTube video Friday from a music producer who shared that the the good things which happened to him were because he created his own luck by making those unusual little connections with seemingly random people that ended up changing his life.

His account caused me to take inventory of my own life's journey and realize that I too had benefited from wandering off the expected path and running into some very special people myself.

Being late for work can change your life. Just ask the people who were stuck in traffic or were otherwise prevented from making it in on that fateful morning of September 11, 2001.

These people are alive today due to a quirk in fate, a little intuition, or a bit of luck which altered their paths on that day.

Nowadays instead of stressing out when something untoward occurs, I wonder both what potential misfortune it may have kept me from as well as what new opportunities have now opened up before me.

I like to share the story of the lottery player to illustrate this. Stephen Espinoza was next in line at a Publix store to buy a scratch-off lottery ticket at a vending machine. As he's next up, a rude man cuts in front of him in order to buy a ticket ahead of him.

Instead of arguing with the man, he lets it go and walks over to the counter to pick up his ticket instead. When he gets the ticket, he's overjoyed to find that he's won the $1 million dollar instant-winner jackpot!

See what I mean?

Now that's karma folks.

He did a good deed and something unexpectedly wonderful happened as a result of it.

So be open to making those connections in life that you normally might not have. Step forward with positivity and grace, and be ready to embrace the good to come! :)
