It is a great pleasure to be part of this new season with ecoTrain question of the week, in which they never disappoint with great topics. Season greetings to everyone, cheers to a better year ahead.
As this week, we're considering 'spirituality'. What it does means and its purpose to life.
According to the dictionary,
Spirituality was defined as the quality or state of being spiritual, concern for that which is unseen and intangible, as opposed to physical or mundane. It can also be defined as
Without any established spiritual principles, spirituality can also refer to the process of forming beliefs about the purpose of life and connections with others.
In life there are challenges, difficult situations, unhealthy and sensible times, so I consider spirituality to be a wonderful way of finding comfort and peace in those periods, as well as a means to focus on stress alleviation and emotional release. It's a means of dealing with life's difficulties but also feeling good about yourself.
And spirituality does not determine one's happiness even though it is an aspect of well-being.
Spirituality vs Religion
Spirituality is sometimes lumped together with religion, yet it is not necessarily necessary to be religious to experience spirituality.
Spirituality is a more personal pursuit that involves a sense of calm and purpose whereas religion is an organized concept practiced by a group of people.
It is distinct from religion as it can be practiced by someone who is not religious.
Spirituality: method of attaining insight.
Spirituality recognizes that your life's purpose is more important than what you do daily.
It can help you grasp your life's higher purpose and liberate you of your reliance on material possessions.
Spirituality can be utilized to cope with change and anxiety.
Spirituality involves beliefs in essential moral traits such as love, empathy, endurance, readiness to forgive, satisfaction, commitment, accord, etc.
It explores the essence of what people live by, focusing on the values and meanings that underlie their lives. Through it, people can learn about their true nature.
Spirituality Expressions
- It can show up in our interactions with friends, family, and the environment in which we live.
- It can be articulated in terms of things that are important or valuable to us, as well as the changes we desire to make in our lives.
- It can be conveyed through our connection to the natural world, such as when we strive to feel things like fresh air, the quietness of the world around us, or taking a rain bath.
- Meditation is also a form of expressing spirituality, as it focuses on the body-soul-mind link.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Wow this has taught me deeper things than I used to know about spirituality...
I only take spirituality in the religious way which I'd like us to know that in religion, we believe that the spiritual controls the physical and that may not only apply to religion alone...
Thanks @hepziba for giving me light on spirituality..
Thanks very much for checking up on my blog and for the fact that it sheds light on your knowledge of the topic, am really happy it helps you more.
Thanks for sharing this @hepziba .. Religion is truly what people practices in our nation today and most times people regard religion as spirituality. Religion is a belief practice to fulfill its purpose while spirituality is a connection between God and the spirit of man because it's the spirit of man that connects to our God. Spirituality as to do with God's word through faith we believe, meditation of God's words and practicing the word to yield result.
